Experience Description

I was in a coma for five days. On one of those days I heard a heart monitor go off, it was mine. I was looking down at my body and noticed there was a dead person covered from head to toe with a sheet onto my right. I floated as a white glow surrounded my being. Down below where my body was a doctor that I could plainly hear was saying that he was not going to lose another one and started to do CPR. I did not want to return to my body and I waved my arms so that he would stop but he did not notice me at all. I returned to my body. When I awoke from coma I no longer feared death!

How do you consider the content of your experience? Positive

The experience included: Out of body experience

Did you feel separated from your body? Yes I could not think when I was in my body but when I was out I could think clearly.

At what time during the experience were you at your highest level of consciousness and alertness? I was fully awake and alert.

Did time seem to speed up or slow down? Everything seemed to be happening at once; or time stopped or lost all meaning There was no time and for space I did not think about it.

Did your hearing differ in any way from normal? Just the sounds of the doctor and the heart monitor.

Did you pass into or through a tunnel? No

Did you encounter or become aware of any deceased (or alive) beings? No

The experience included: Light

Did you see an unearthly light? Uncertain A white Glow that was around me.

Did you seem to enter some other, unearthly world? A clearly mystical or unearthly realm I could move my arms and even speak not in words.

The experience included: Strong emotional tone

What emotions did you feel during the experience? Happiness, Pure Bliss, Free, Love.

Did you suddenly seem to understand everything? Everything about the universe I needed to learn more.

Did scenes from your past come back to you? My past flashed before me, out of my control

Did scenes from the future come to you? No

Did you come to a border or point of no return? No I did not want to go back but I did not have a choice.

What was your religion prior to your experience? Liberal Christen

What is your religion now? Conservative/fundamentalist

Did you have a change in your values and beliefs because of your experience? Yes I used to think I knew about God and heaven but now I can say I don't know and I am happy with that!

After the NDE:

Was the experience difficult to express in words? No Freedom from the chains of the body and Earth.

Do you have any psychic, non-ordinary or other special gifts after your experience that you did not have before the experience? Yes I hear warnings about appending doom and sometimes know what is going to happen before it does, but cannot control it. I write and do not know what I have written until it's been already written like poems.

Are there one or several parts of your experience that are especially meaningful or significant to you? Not fearing death. Coming back to my body.

Have you ever shared this experience with others? Yes They did not believed me but I do not care!
