Experience Description

I am deaf and non-verbal. I am sharing this account because I want to document my experience as accurately as I can remember it.

This account describes what I personally experienced and perceived. I understand that some parts of the experience are spiritual perceptions and cannot be independently verified as physical events.

**What Happened Before the Experience**

I was at home in Nairobi, near the kitchen. Before going to bed, I prayed.

I had a headache, heart pain, and weakness inside my body. I had taken medicine, but I remember that I mistakenly took two medicines.

Around midnight, I was lying down because I felt unwell and weak. I woke up and tried to get up and walk, but I became very weak and fell onto the floor.

I tried to ask my mother for help but was unable to do so. My mother heard me fall and came to find me on the floor. She called my brother, Marvin. He woke up and came to me. I remember him touching and moving my body.

**Separation From My Body**

After this, I experienced my spirit leaving my physical body.

I perceived myself as being in Heaven. My eyes seemed to be open, but the environment appeared dark.

A screen appeared near me. On the screen, I perceived my mother and brother looking at my physical body.

**The Archangel**

The Archangel Lord appeared and walked near me.

The Archangel communicated with me through sign language. I remember the message:

"Your spirit is the Son of God."

I was shocked and afraid.

The Archangel then communicated something like:

"Yes, my Father. Why are you afraid?"

I became quiet.

The Archangel then told me through signs:

"Come with me."

He began walking with me toward the area where I perceived Jehovah God sitting on His throne.

**What I Perceived in Heaven**

As we walked, I perceived Jesus Christ standing nearby. I remember that Jesus Christ saw me.

I also perceived many angels gathered around us.

I saw very small, child-like beings whom I understood to be children of God, or "spirits of light."

I perceived my own spirit as extremely tall. In my perception, I was taller than the Archangel and taller than Jesus Christ. I also experienced my form as enormous, in a way that reminded me of how I understood Jehovah God to be.

These were perceptions during the experience and were not physical measurements.

**Jehovah God and the Throne**

I understood that Jehovah God was sitting on His throne.

However, I could not directly see Jehovah God. The area appeared dark to me. I tried to see Him but was unable to.

I perceived the Archangel looking toward Jehovah God. I perceived the throne-room setting and Jehovah God's presence, but I could not see His face directly.

**Fear of Judgment**

At one point, I became afraid that I would be judged because I believed that I had sinned.

I thought I might go to Hell because of my sins.

I asked the Archangel Lord to please let me return to my body.

The Archangel looked back toward the screen. I remember standing and looking down toward him while he looked up toward me.

He communicated:

"Let go."

I then felt calm and smiled.

**Flying Back to Earth**

I began moving extremely fast. I remember running, jumping, and flying through the screen. The screen disappeared as I passed through it.

I was surprised by what was happening. I remember thinking that I had become like Superman because I was soaring through the sky.

I perceived myself flying extremely fast toward Earth and toward my body.

I saw white clouds.

I felt a strong vibration in my heart. The sensation became stronger as I perceived myself moving faster.

I also felt strong air and wind moving against my body. It felt somewhat like wearing a jacket because of the way the air moved around me.

I heard a strong sound in my ears that I understood as the force of the air and wind.

As I reached the clouds, I perceived oxygen and wind. I then continued toward my physical body.

**Re-entry Into My Body**

I perceived myself entering through a window.

I then experienced myself entering back into my physical body.

I woke up and became aware of my surroundings.

My heart was beating very fast, and I felt extremely weak.

My mother and brother were surprised to see me awake. From their reaction, I understood that they had thought I was dead.

They held me up and carried me toward the bedroom because I was very weak.

**Afterward**

I later went back to sleep.

When I woke up the following morning, I remember feeling healed and much better.

The weakness and severe physical condition I had experienced the night before had changed significantly.

**Most Significant Features of My Experience**

The features I consider most important in my experience are:

My perception of my spirit leaving my body.

Seeing my mother, brother, and physical body through a screen.

Communicating with the Archangel Lord through sign language.

The message, "Your spirit is the Son of God."

Seeing Jesus Christ and many angels.

Seeing small beings whom I understood as children of God or spirits of light.

My perception of being extremely tall compared with the Archangel and Jesus Christ.

Perceiving Jehovah God and His throne but being unable to see Him directly because my vision appeared dark.

Fear of judgment and Hell because I believed I had sinned.

Asking to return to my body.

At the time of your experience, was there an associated life-threatening event? Yes
I had a severe headache, heart pain, and extreme weakness after mistakenly taking two medicines. I collapsed on the floor and my mother and brother thought I was dead.

How do you consider the content of your experience? Both pleasant AND distressing

Did you feel separated from your body? I clearly left my body and existed outside it
I saw my mother and brother looking at my body on the screen.

How did your highest level of consciousness and alertness during the experience compare to your normal everyday consciousness and alertness? While I was with the Archangel, seeing Jesus and the angels, and while flying back to my body.
I felt fully awake and extremely alert while outside my body, more than in normal life. Everything was clear and intense.

At what time during the experience were you at your highest level of consciousness? More consciousness and alertness than normal

Were your thoughts speeded up? Incredibly fast

Did time seem to speed up or slow down? Everything seemed to be happening at once; or time stopped or lost all meaning
I moved extremely fast, and the experience felt intense.

Were your senses more vivid than usual? Incredibly more vivid

Please compare your vision during the experience to your everyday vision that you had immediately prior to the time of the experience The environment appeared dark, especially around Jehovah God's throne. However, I could clearly see the screen showing my mother and brother, the Archangel, Jesus Christ, many angels, and the small childlike spirits of light.

Please compare your hearing during the experience to your everyday hearing that you had immediately prior to the time of the experience I am deaf in everyday life. During the experience, I heard a sound like a strong wind in my ears as I flew back to Earth.

Did you seem to be aware of things going on elsewhere? Yes, but the facts have not been checked out

Did you pass into or through a tunnel? No

Did you see any beings in your experience? I actually saw them

Did you encounter or become aware of any deceased beings? Yes
I saw my mother and brother on the screen, plus spiritual beings.

Did you see or feel surrounded by a brilliant light? No

Did you see an unearthly light? No

Did you seem to enter another world? A clearly mystical or unearthly realm
I perceived myself in Heaven.

What emotions did you feel during the experience? Shock, fear of judgment, then calmness and happiness after the Archangel said 'Let go'.

Did you have a feeling of peace or pleasantness? Relief or calmness

Did you have a feeling of joy? Happiness

Did you feel a sense of harmony or unity with the universe? No

Did you come to a border or point of no return? I came to a definite conscious decision to return to life
I asked the Archangel to let me return. He said 'Let go', and I returned.

What was your religion prior to your experience? Christian - Catholic
I prayed before going to bed. My experience involved Jehovah God, Jesus Christ, and the Archangel.

Have your religious practices changed? Yes
I became more certain that life continues after death and that God exists. I also feel less fear of death.

What is your religion now? Christian - Catholic

Did your experience include features consistent with your earthly beliefs? Content that was both consistent and not consistent with the beliefs you had at the time of your experience
I was already Christian. Seeing Jesus Christ, the Archangel, and Jehovah God was consistent with my faith. However, perceiving my own spirit as extremely tall and the dark area around God's throne felt unusual and hard to fully understand.

Did you have a change in your values and beliefs because of your experience? Yes
My faith in God, Jesus Christ, and the afterlife became stronger. I now value prayer and my spiritual life more than before.

Did you seem to encounter a mystical being or presence, or hear an unidentifiable voice? I encountered a definite being, or a voice clearly of mystical or unearthly origin
The Archangel Lord communicated with me.

Did you encounter or become aware of any beings who previously lived on earth who are described by name in religions (for example: Jesus, Muhammad, Buddha, etc.)? Yes

During your experience, did you gain information about the existence of God? Yes
I perceived Jehovah God on His throne, Jesus Christ, and the Archangel.

Concerning our Earthly lives other than Religion:

During your experience, did you gain special knowledge or information about your purpose? Yes
I received the message 'My spirit is the Son of God'.

During your experience, did you gain information about the meaning of life? No

During your experience, did you gain information about an afterlife? Yes
I left my body, went to Heaven, and saw spiritual beings.

Did you gain information about how to live our lives? No

During your experience, did you gain information about life's difficulties, challenges and hardships? No

What life changes occurred in your life after your experience? Moderate changes in my life
After the experience, I felt healed the next morning. My belief in God, Jesus, and the afterlife became stronger. I no longer fear death as much as before. The experience remains very clear in my memory.

Have your relationships changed specifically because of your experience? No

After the NDE:

Was the experience difficult to express in words? Yes
It is difficult to fully describe the size of my spirit, the darkness around Jehovah God's throne, the speed of flying, and the way the Archangel communicated with me through sign language.

How accurately do you remember the experience in comparison to other life events that occurred around the time of the experience? I remember the experience more accurately than other life events that occurred around the time of the experience
I remember the experience very clearly and have tried to describe it as accurately as possible.

Do you have any psychic, non-ordinary or other special gifts after your experience that you did not have before the experience? No

Are there one or several parts of your experience that are especially meaningful or significant to you? The message from the Archangel, 'Your spirit is the Son of God', seeing Jesus Christ and the angels, and the moment the Archangel said 'Let go' and I felt calm.

Have you ever shared this experience with others? Yes
I am sharing it now with NDERF, and possibly with family.

Did you have any knowledge of near death experience (NDE) prior to your experience? No

What did you believe about the reality of your experience shortly (days to weeks) after it happened? Experience was definitely real
I believed it was real because I clearly left my body, saw my mother and brother, met the Archangel and Jesus, and woke up feeling healed the next morning.

What do you believe about the reality of your experience now? Experience was definitely real
I still believe the experience was real. The memories remain clear after many years, and it strengthened my faith in God and the afterlife.

At any time in your life, has anything ever reproduced any part of the experience? No
