Experience Description

On June 19, I was dead in the street from being hit by a SUV.

My body lay on the pavement, covered in hot motor oil while bleeding from my nose, mouth, ears, and eyes. I saw a pastor recited the last rites "May the Lord in his love and mercy help you... May the Lord who frees you from sin save you and raise you up." I had a hard time understanding who he was praying for. I was not there as my spirit had left the body. I was teleported upon impact, journeying in an instant to the other side. Paramedics resuscitated me and took me to the hospital. The prognosis was not good.

Although my body was resuscitated, I remained in a Stage-3 Glasgow coma, defined as a "deep coma or death." The white and gray layers of my brain were sheared upon impact, causing a diffuse axonal injury (DAI), which is the most severe traumatic brain injury known to science. Over 90 percent of DAI sufferers never regain consciousness, and those who do remain significantly impaired. I woke up from my coma on my birthday. I could not speak, did not know my name, did not recognize the woman praying at my bedside to whom I was married for 10 years, nor did I recognize the young man in my room who was my 19-year-old son. Of the 10% of DAI victims who survive, 82% are dead or put in a mental or other institution within four years.

In addition to this tragedy, I experienced an intense and unprecedented near-death experience. It was unprecedented because it lasted the entire nine days I was in a coma. I retained full recall of it, and it had all the standard NDE features, such as an out-of-body experience and life review. However, I experienced a few elements rarely documented before. My life review was not just of a single life but a review of several past lives. I also had a life preview showing me the future. I had answers to many religious and spiritual mysteries that were uploaded into my consciousness. For four years, I continued to experience NDE phenomena that continued to challenge my sanity. Sixty-five percent of NDErs get divorced, and 75% have career endings. I communicated daily with an intelligence from the "other side," which I began referring to as Akashic Agents.

After nine days in the ICU and 28 days in the hospital, I was discharged. I was terrified that the medical prognosis would be fulfilled and I would never recover back to normal or that there was a high chance that I would go insane. My miraculous recovery strategies were dictated to me by "Akashic Agents," who advised what to study and use.

Desperate for any way to survive and recover, I began to study and research everything there was to know about my specific brain injuries and NDEs. Over the next four years, a recovery strategy was engineered with guidance from Akashic Agents. This was a fusion of allopathic medicine, homeopathic strategies, and holistic methods that combined conventional physical therapy with Ashtanga, Tantra, and Kundalini yoga. I replaced all prescription medications with organic supplements and a holistic diet. Additionally, I applied game-changing strategies from Ayurveda, Tai Chi, and acupuncture. UCLA’s Brain Injury Research Center (BIRC) uses my case and fMRI for research and study.

To cope with the overwhelming features of the NDE phenomena, I used intense spiritual methods that included Bhakti yoga, esoteric mysticism, and theologies of omnism, syncretism, interfaith, and religious pluralism.

Today, after four years of intense effort, I have become a documented medical miracle. I have written five books, won six awards, and provide private counseling and guidance to people worldwide. While I am not the 4.0 tennis player I once was, I still play every day. While I am not backpacking the High Sierra Mountains like before, I hike rigorously. I work out daily and am completely self-reliant.

I was dead, but now I live. My life is a triumph over tragedy, yet I suffered tremendous losses: divorce, my successful career of helping others, and my finances have all been casualties. I have sorrow in my heart but joy in my spirit. It's rough. I still provide counseling services, and many people seek me out for spiritual guidance and training after seeing me interviewed or discovering my books. I had an idyllic life, was already deeply spiritual, and if I could go back in time before the accident, I would stay home that day and avoid the whole thing. As profound and inspiring as it is for others, it has been hard on me.

Background Information:

Gender: Male

Date of NDE: 06/19/2013

NDE Elements:

At the time of your experience, was there an associated life-threatening event? Yes
I was hit in the face by an SUV, killed instantly. Two paramedics happen to be on the corner in a drive thru and rescucitated me. I remained in a stage-3 glasgow coma for nine days and woke on my birthday. I could not move, had forgottetn how to talk or walk and did not know who my son or wife were. It wasnt amnesia--it was like i had been reborn with no memory.I am the only person in history to have recovered from a stage3 glasgow coma and a diffuse axonal brain injury-the most severe TBI known to science.

How do you consider the content of your experience? Both pleasant AND distressing

Did you feel separated from your body? I clearly left my body and existed outside it
I did not have the classic OBE feature. It was far more subtle. Earthly events and concepts of past, present and future were 'uploaded' into my consciousness. My life-review included many past lives, my life PREview was chilling. I saw truth and it has all been taking place. Not cool actually!

How did your highest level of consciousness and alertness during the experience compare to your normal everyday consciousness and alertness? I was aware and alert for the entire nine days i was in a coma. No of the world, but of the 'other-side'.
My personal ego, sense of 'self' was not obsucring my thoughts or filtering any perceptions. It was pure and raw and objective rather than subjective. I merely UNDERSTOOD things--a state of illumination that persisted during my coma and after.

At what time during the experience were you at your highest level of consciousness? More consciousness and alertness than normal

Were your thoughts speeded up? Incredibly fast

Did time seem to speed up or slow down? Everything seemed to be happening at once; or time stopped or lost all meaning
Time was not a relevent concept, though I understood it did exist there, just not in any relatable way.

Were your senses more vivid than usual? Incredibly more vivid

Please compare your vision during the experience to your everyday vision that you had immediately prior to the time of the experience I had the capacity of long-term, nearly eternal, vision. I have always seen things with spiritual and long term lenses, but this was confirmed, validated and comprehensive.

Please compare your hearing during the experience to your everyday hearing that you had immediately prior to the time of the experience I had no sense of phycial 'hearing' or any other physical senses. I was in a formless, non physical condition of pure consciousness.

Did you seem to be aware of things going on elsewhere? Yes, and the facts have been checked out

Did you pass into or through a tunnel? No

Did you see any beings in your experience? I sensed their presence

Did you encounter or become aware of any deceased beings? Yes
My multiple PAST life previewS (plural) traveled through time and i witnessed many religious and spiritual historical events with the Buddha, yeshua (Jesus), esoterics from the turn of the century and several others. I was in a coma for nine days so i had plenty of time to be shown things!

Did you see or feel surrounded by a brilliant light? A light clearly of mystical or other-worldly origin

Did you see an unearthly light? No

Did you seem to enter another world? A clearly mystical or unearthly realm
A formless, timeless dimension of mind and spirit. An 'in between' place between physical world, psychic dimensions and spiritual ones.

What emotions did you feel during the experience? Contentment. I was in a desireless condition. I had no needs or wants other than to please and serve a power of divine love. Without the burden of ego-identity, I was not burdened by desires or expectations and accepted all of realitty as it is, not as I thought it should or could be.

Did you have a feeling of peace or pleasantness? Incredible peace or pleasantness

Did you have a feeling of joy? Happiness

Did you feel a sense of harmony or unity with the universe? I felt united or one with the world

Did you suddenly understand everything? Everything about the universe
Not EVERYTHING as in omniscient. But everythign i was 'qualified' to know or understand. With a lifetime of spiirutal work and study i was privy to a lot, like how life, death, karma, reincarnation, spirit, psychic, etc works and functions. I was told this was rare and was because i could 'handle' it with my prior spiritual work and acceptance of all faiths (omnism).

Did scenes from your past come back? I remembered many past events
I had the classic life review AND preview, but was shown dozens of past lives that corresponded to my spiritual journey over thousands of years, revealing to me the things I did right and wrong relating to spiritual growth and progress.

Did scenes from the future come? Both--mostly MY future with shadowy, POTENTIAL futures of the world and humanity. I was told no one is actually qia;ified to see the hard future facts, as free will can change destiny to an extent. I was shown POTENTIAL realities of where things were headed, not predestined. But close!

Did you reach a boundary or limiting physical structure? No

Did you come to a border or point of no return? I came to a barrier that I was not permitted to cross; or was sent back against my will
Staying was not an option. I had karmas to live out and my ultimate, predetermined time of death was not due. No, I did not want to return once I saw my life preview and the horros I would endure from my accident which are all coming true and it sucks.

God, Spiritual and Religion:

What was your religion prior to your experience? Other or several faiths
A mystic, yogi and theologue since my youth. I qualify as a spiritual polymath.

Have your religious practices changed? Yes
asked and answered: I was already a full time, pracicing spiritualist. Lately I do less as I am trying to survive the world.

What is your religion now? Other or several faiths
same as above.

Did your experience include features consistent with your earthly beliefs? Content that was both consistent and not consistent with the beliefs you had at the time of your experience
My lifelong spiritual work and study was confirmed as being on the right track, but it was revealed i only know a fraction.

Did you have a change in your values and beliefs because of your experience? Yes
THis question was asked and answered awhile ago. My beliefs DEEPENED, but did not change.

Did you seem to encounter a mystical being or presence, or hear an unidentifiable voice? I encountered a definite being, or a voice clearly of mystical or unearthly origin
I was in direct contact and dialogue with a divine intelligence I now refer to as Akashic Agents. It continues to this day, but it is more tarnished by worldly, dense reality. Akash is the Sanskrit word for the nonphysical space so it is just a term i came up with that was nondenominational. They are not 'God' per se, but the Divine's 'agents' that facilitate and manage worldy affairs, like karma and personal growth and spiritual awareness.

Did you encounter or become aware of any beings who previously lived on earth who are described by name in religions (for example: Jesus, Muhammad, Buddha, etc.)? Yes
I was given a tour of several 'celestail abodes'; each one a dimension for a specific faith. There were dozens of them; hellish ones too. I was shown this and explained how it worked and why.

During your experience, did you gain information about premortal existence? Yes
Dozens of mysteries were revealed to me, may I suspected orr knew already and they were confirmed and a few new revelations too.

During your experience, did you gain information about universal connection or oneness? Yes
I was shown that REALITY is paradoxical: we are all ONE yet we are all also seperate. Everythign is connected yet lacks union due to acceptacne and awareness which is not real. All of Creation is perfect, but we are too ignorant to accept it this way. We are all ONE power of 'soul' yet we lack the ability to accept this due to ego. I was told this is a 'divine ignorance' and is a special divine power itself.

During your experience, did you gain information about the existence of God? Yes
I did not see or speak wwth the Supreme Divine power, but 'His' agents and representatives. I'm not 'qualified' to SEE God. Almost no one is or so i was told.

Concerning our Earthly lives other than Religion:

During your experience, did you gain special knowledge or information about your purpose? Yes
Just to pursue spiritual union. As a person? I'm just human, trying to get aong and help people, but I'm just a human.

During your experience, did you gain information about the meaning of life? Yes
To evolve spiritually, nothing else. be good, be spiritual, love the Divine power.

During your experience, did you gain information about an afterlife? Yes
In detail, yes. Infinte lives to get chances to achieve spiritual perfection and surrrender and become liberated from the material matrix.

Did you gain information about how to live our lives? Yes
dozens. It is painful to see a world that pursues superficial happines over spiritual connection. But I am no different--as spiritual as i try to live and practice, i also am enslaved by desires. It sucks!

During your experience, did you gain information about life's difficulties, challenges and hardships? Yes
Oour chalenges are carefully arranged to give us opportunity to grwo and like 'level-up'! We deserve all that happesn to us from past-life actions and intentions (karma) and it is all carefully arranged to give us opportunity to grow up and spiritually develop.

During your experience, did you gain information about love? Yes
God IS love! All of creation and souls are a fraction of a divine power of love. It is, of course,, all that matters.

What life changes occurred in your life after your experience? Large changes in my life
My level of spiritual devotion prior, durign and after my event was all that mattered to me. For twelve years now I have struggled because my death event WRECKED my life. I remained strong and spiritual the entire time IN SPITE of my destruction. It has been over a decade and am wearing out from keeping my faith and strength and i fear my worldly future which is compromising my spiritual strength. I have endured more than I have ever heard of and, like Job, continue to suffer endlessly and I'm running out of power. I remain mentally stable, i NEVER get sick, i work nonstop but remain alone and my monoey is running out and I fear being homeless will cause me to become spiritually resentful. I have worked and enjoyed spiritual life all my life and i cannot grasp whay I was given so much and most of it was all wrecked in spite of spiritual devotion. I guess we'll see how it ends.

Have your relationships changed specifically because of your experience? Yes
It alienated me significantly. I have low tolerance for casual or superficial relationships. Those i am close to respect and admire me greatly and i care for them too.

After the NDE:

Was the experience difficult to express in words? Yes
It is ineffible, but as a skilled articulator and writer, i feel confident i express and explain the ineffible in terms others can grasp. It has been suggested by many that it is why i was 'chosen'--to use my rare skills to share my highly unprecedented NDE>

How accurately do you remember the experience in comparison to other life events that occurred around the time of the experience? I remember the experience more accurately than other life events that occurred around the time of the experience
For the first four years, i had none to fuzzy recall of my life before and clear recall of my NDE episode. I worked my ass off to heal my brain and retrain my memory and now have full recall of my worldly life too.

Do you have any psychic, non-ordinary or other special gifts after your experience that you did not have before the experience? Yes
A whole bunch of psychic stuff which I have no use for.

Are there one or several parts of your experience that are especially meaningful or significant to you? It's all extraordinary and also trying. Mine is not like any other I heard of.

Have you ever shared this experience with others? Yes
I am often asked to be interviewed and i have gracioulsy accepted. My experience affects people profoundly.

Did you have any knowledge of near death experience (NDE) prior to your experience? No

What did you believe about the reality of your experience shortly (days to weeks) after it happened? Experience was definitely not real
I was in the middle of it for several years--it didnt stop!

What do you believe about the reality of your experience now? Experience was definitely real
As real as anything else. It is not doubted in any way. Though I lately am wondering WHY it happened.

At any time in your life, has anything ever reproduced any part of the experience? Yes
I experience spontaneous recall for years, i have spontaneous past-life regression often and recognize people from prior life connections too. It's all rather automatic and I have to manange it so I turned it way down to function in the world too. Spiritual consciousness does not pay the rent and I need to surivive HERE too!

Did the questions asked and information that you provided accurately and comprehensively describe your experience? Yes
I think and hope so--you tell me :-)

Anything else to add? Infinite. I can go on and on about divine matters. It's not about 'me'-- it's about the spirit.
