Experience Description

I had to have an emergency C-section. During that time, I began to hemorrhage and had to be put under anesthesia. . . I was running through a field of incredibly red flowers. I saw myself running. I was not in my body. But I was running fast. The colors of the flowers were such a vibrant red color. They were all I could see. . . I felt as if I had love without condition. Like a mother's love.

This was a vast field full of many red flowers.

I believed in God and Jesus, but I wasn't going to church or reading the Bible.

I was never sure of an afterlife, but the field and overwhelming love were on par with what I wanted in an afterlife.

After the NDE:

Was the experience difficult to express in words? No

How accurately do you remember the experience in comparison to other life events that occurred around the time of the experience? I remember the experience as accurately as other life events that occurred around the time of the experience
I can recall the memory of running through the field pretty well. The colors are more dull, but I remember them being extremely vibrant.

Do you have any psychic, non-ordinary or other special gifts after your experience that you did not have before the experience? No

Are there one or several parts of your experience that are especially meaningful or significant to you? The red flowers, I feel, mean something, but I don't know what it is. Also the fact that I had consciousness while under anesthesia.

Have you ever shared this experience with others? Yes
Immediately with family. The reaction was more of an 'ok that's interesting'.

Did you have any knowledge of near death experience (NDE) prior to your experience? Yes
I knew of them, but I didn't know about them that well. Just the tunnel of light and all that. Not the overwhelming love. I don't feel knowing about it affected my experience.

What did you believe about the reality of your experience shortly (days to weeks) after it happened? Experience was probably real
It felt both real and dreamlike.

I still do not know.

Anything else to add? As I said, it was under anesthesia. I am unsure if this really was an NDE or not. But I ran in third person through a field of red flowers and felt just absolute love and warmth.
