My family drove me to the hospital. Grandpa was driving, and Grandma was sitting in the front. I was lying on my mom's lap in the right passenger seat.

I was becoming too worn out from trying to breathe. I started staring out the window and watching the telephone poles fly by to distract myself from the endless struggle to breathe.

As I stared out the window, a disembodied woman's head appeared outside the car, floating and looking at me. She approached from behind, as if she had to catch up with the car. She was beautiful.

She had an alabaster white face and hair, like a marble statue that could talk. She spoke directly to my mind. She gave me her name, but it had more syllables than I had the energy to remember.

She smiled. She was kind.

“You do not have to suffer anymore. All you have to do is agree to come with me. We will give you a better body in your next life.”

I was suspicious of her, and I did not want to leave my mom. In my mind, I asked her to give me time to think it over. She told me my time was short and that I needed to decide then and there.

This was the point at which I realized I had stopped breathing. I think it was because she pointed it out to me.

I felt free. It was wonderful not to have an elephant sitting on my chest. That is what severe asthma feels like. You have to fight for every breath, all the time.

I told my mom there was a beautiful woman outside the car telling me I could have a better body if only I went with her. I instantly regretted telling her when Mom started screaming that I was dying.

The car went faster and faster. The telephone poles flew by even faster.

The woman disappeared.

Mom carried me into the hospital and handed me to a nurse. A young doctor asked how long it had been since I stopped breathing.

Grandpa said, “Just when we came through the ER doors.”

I laughed because I knew Gramps had lied. He had been driving in the front and had no way of knowing when I stopped breathing.

The nurse put me on a metal table. I looked down at my body. The surgical lamps were in the way, and it was difficult to see what the doctor was doing to me.

I floated above the lamps like a balloon. I discovered that I could not control how I moved. It was very frustrating.

I could feel the doctor's thoughts. He was trying to control his panic. He had expected a dull day and was unprepared for a crisis. He had no idea what was wrong with me, and he knew he was fighting against some clock ticking in his head.

Time was life.

There was a disturbance above me. Where the ceiling and wall connected, a whirling circle grew out of nothing.

Several white orbs emerged from it. There were at least eight orbs. They formed two silent rows, as though they were waiting.

Soon, a final orb appeared. I immediately sensed that this orb was male and had authority over the others. He was not kind. He was commanding, insistent, and compelling.

“You must decide now. If you come with us, we will make sure you get a better body in your next life.”

I was ready to go, but first I wanted to say goodbye to my family. I felt a loyalty to them.

Each of them was alone in the hospital waiting area. Mom was weeping into her white hankie with blue fringe. Grannie was silently stoic. She was half Native American and had a unique persona.

Grandpa was staring at the ER double doors. He was a successful businessman who was always sure of himself and in charge of everything and everyone.

Now, he looked lost.

Each of them had retreated into their own minds.

I realized that if I went with the orbs, my family would blame themselves and each other for what had happened. My family would be destroyed.

I could not allow that.

I made my choice.

Instantly, I saw the doctor below me push a hypodermic needle into my chest.

The orbs were gone. The whirling white portal was gone.

I was back in my body, lying on an ice cold table.

Breathing.

Breathing easily.

Only 6 years old. Born two months premature and for first four years spent most of time suffering from asthma and pneumonia to go to church. Not indoctrinated in any religion at time of experience.

My NDE at 6 years old became the foundation for how I judged religion and my life.

I believe the Universe is self-aware. Consciousness is an energy field we share with the Universe like drops of water in an ocean. When we enter the physical world we develop individual identity and self-awareness that grows and evolves with each lifetime.

I had no religious belief so their agnosticism was consistent with mine.

Two beings spoke to me. The first appeared as a woman, the second as an orb but with a male's persona.

Did you encounter or become aware of any beings who previously lived on earth who are described by name in religions (for example: Jesus, Muhammad, Buddha, etc.)? No

During your experience, did you gain information about premortal existence? Yes

Before I made my choice to stay, I must have thought about Jesus because the male orb responded that religion was like a child's toy and of immature minds. They did not make any other mention of God or heaven or hell or anything humans regard as religious. It was my impression they ethically steer clear of sharing such thoughts as if it is improper to affect our thinking directly. They respect our inherent right to free will.

During your experience, did you gain information about the meaning of life? Yes

I was told multiple times that I would be given a better body next life if I returned with the beings to wherever they are from.

They did not want me to suffer any more.

Their interaction can only be described as compassionate and loving.

What life changes occurred in your life after your experience? Large changes in my life
Since I was only 6 at the time, I can say my NDE completely shaped my entire life. It has been an incredible journey full of joy and wonder. I have loved every moment.

Have your relationships changed specifically because of your experience? Yes
Affected all my relationships. I share it with my close friends and loved ones but waited until retirement to write my books. To come out of the NDE closet, so to speak.

Throughout life, many dreams and visions. Some pleasant. Others not.

Are there one or several parts of your experience that are especially meaningful or significant to you? I wrote books about them. But briefly, I know the Guides exist and they seek to help us find our way. Religion has robbed generations of souls of the conscious knowledge that neither heaven nor hell exist and that all life enjoys eternal existence regardless of religion or how we live each life. Each life is a chord of music we learn from.

Have you ever shared this experience with others? Yes
Immediately. But it freaked my family out. They were already brainwashed into religion.

My perception of the experience convinced me. Like going to school.

Throughout the rest of my life, I have enjoyed a close personal relationship with the beings, the orbs. I call them my Guides.

1956

I was suffering from double pneumonia complicated by chronic severe asthma. Every breath was a great strain and I was worn out.

My grandpa drove me to the hospital. Grannie was in front seat. I lay on my mom's lap in the back seat.

As we sped along, I started watching the telephone poles fly by. A white, disembodied head floated just outside the car. It approached from the rear and stopped at the window I was looking out. The head was alabaster white and I could tell it was female. She gave me a multi-syllable name. I was too sick to remember all of it, but the first two syllables were “Aeron…”. I remember this like it was this morning. As she got to the third syllable, I stopped trying to keep up. She said mentally with gentle compassion:

“You do not need to suffer any more. You can come with me. We will give you a better body next life. All you have to do is tell me you want to come with me.” I didn't know what to do, so I didn't respond.

“You must choose. We do not have much time.” I told my mom about her and watched my mom she start sobbing. The car went faster.

I stopped breathing. It was a great relief and fun. Arriving at the hospital. Mom carrying me through double doors and handing me to a young man in white coat who asked, “How long’s he not been breathing?”

My grandpa says, “Right before we came through the door.” I laugh to myself because I knew he lied. He had no idea when I stopped breathing. I knew it was way before we reached the hospital.

By now, I am floating above my body. I saw them put me on a table. I feel nothing. I do know that the young man in the white coat is desperately trying not to panic. He was not expecting such an emergency. He had no clue why I stopped breathing. I float up above the surgical lamps wondering if he will figure it out in time. The lamps are in my way. My floating interferes with being able to see what he’s doing.

A swirling, white circle was above me where the ceiling meets the wall. There were white orbs passing through it and lining up on either side. They are waiting as this is some sort of ceremony. A senior orb appears. It is a male who has authority. His voice is commanding:

“You must decide now. Your time is almost up. If you choose not to suffer any more you can come with us. We will give you a better body. Choose now.”

I want to say goodbye to my family. They have separated from each other. Grannie is stoic. Mom is sobbing into her hanky.

Grandpa is alone in the lobby staring at the double doors. I realize if I go, they will blame themselves and each other for what happened to me. My knew that my death will destroy them. As much as I want a better body, I cannot leave them behind.

“I will stay,” I mentally tell the leader.

As soon as I think those words, the doctor reacts as if he suddenly has inspiration. He jabs a long hypo needle into my chest. I am back in my body breathing again. Instantly.

I could see my family though they were in different rooms from me and from each other. I read the thoughts of the orbs.

I was not focusing on time. But once the orbs appeared time stopped or greatly slowed.

I was detached from my physical body but still in this world.

Religion is a tool used by the corrupt to control the masses for wealth and power. The pope's job is not to save anybody. His job is to maintain and protect the church as a money-making business.

What is your religion now? Other or several faiths
I believe the Universe is self aware and we are part of it. Like drops of ocean water.

I was only 6 years old and was not religious. I was not antireligious until this encounter. At six you are open to everything. Nothing is consistent or inconsistent. Tabula Rasa.

My experience directly clashed with the religion my parents tried to raise me into. Took many years to resolve this conflict.

Yes. See above. I spoke with a female and a male being of unknown origin. They appeared able to control what happens when we are dying. But they are limited by our free will.

I was only 6 years old so it was all new to me.

Telepathy leaks what one thinks and feels. The female and male leaders had strong inner thoughts. I was aware of their inner selves and what they were thinking. Nothing religious. There was a distinct sense that they viewed human religious faith the same way a parent reacts to their teenage daughter having a crush on some boy at school. Tolerated but not encouraged. Human immaturity. They had a strong sense of duty to what my mind interpreted as called 'the Light'. This Light is an independent self aware force of nature that I interpreted as meaning the Universe as a whole.

During your experience, did you gain information about the existence of God? Yes
I was able to share their inner thoughts and feelings. 'God' and other religious creatures are of human origin and do not exist. They are aware of an energy source but they do not control it. They have learned how to employ it to give us repeated rebirths and to affect human development and on occasion events.

During your experience, did you gain special knowledge or information about your purpose? Yes
Rebirth exists. Earth religions are fake but tolerated by the orb beings. Religion is seen as a crutch that is used by some to control the masses. There exist beings we do not understand because our vision is corrupted by religious indoctrination. These beings have both direct and indirect influence over our thoughts and lives. This and other encounters made me wonder whether these orbs are not of alien origin. They exist in the same universe we do but they exist in a nonphysical state. Like a gas compared to solid or liquid.

During your experience, did you gain information about the meaning of life? Yes
Infinite. Taken my entire life to wrap my head around it all and still learning. What was clear to me then was the simple truth that I had lived before many times and this is normal for all of us regardless of our indoctrinated false sense of religious affiliations.

During your experience, did you gain information about an afterlife? Yes
The beings repeatedly told me they wanted me to have a better body and they would give me one if I agreed to go back with them. It was understood that the 'better body' would return in this world, not a heaven or hell. Heaven and hell did not exist.

Did you gain information about how to live our lives? No

During your experience, did you gain information about life's difficulties, challenges and hardships? Yes

The orb beings are objective but committed to teaching us. They act as drill instructors, teachers, guides, parents as required by circumstance. They stand by you. I have felt connected to them throughout my life but much stronger before puberty. I think hormones interfere with the physical connection. My physical connection was a strong tingling sensation that would begin at the base of my spine and travel up to my occipital lobe. It was a strong vibration and sometimes so strongly euphoric I would cry. I would get visions. I dreamed things that came to pass. This was often not fun. This was often emotionally painful. I was always afraid people would ridicule me if I shared this. I shared it with loved ones only. Even they were uncomfortable. These sensations began to steadily recede after puberty but have returned upon occasion throughout my life.

What life changes occurred in your life after your experience? Large changes in my life
Take too long to write in this space. NDEs do not end but continually affect my life with dreams and visions. Just not as often as when younger.
