Experience Description In 2023 my life changed in a way I never expected. My husband and I had gone out to dinner and were riding our motorcycles home. We we hadn't done this for decades. Riding motorcycles always felt like freedom to me; especially with music playing in my helmet, the wind moving around me, and the road stretching ahead. As we were riding that evening, I noticed a truck parked on the shoulder with its lights on. I didn’t think much about it. It was just another vehicle pulled off to the side of the road. I kept riding, enjoying the music and the wind. Then suddenly everything slowed down. The truck pulled out directly in front of me and began making a U-turn. I remember thinking very clearly, “This doesn’t seem right.” What happened next changed my life forever. Before the impact, I suddenly saw my mother. My mother had passed away years earlier, but there she was. She appeared as a living red presence, almost like energy. Over the red color, I saw bright green writing in the air that said: “You’re going to come with me for a little while, but you’re not going to stay.” Then she asked me in my mind, “Do you understand?” And I did. When I acknowledged that I understood, she let me see my son, Cory. He was my son who died two years earlier in a motorcycle accident. He appeared as a calm, blue presence. I recognized him instantly through the love I felt for him. For a moment he showed me his face and made a funny expression. It was the kind of face he used to make me laugh. Even in heaven, he was still my son. Then he showed me something else. The blue shape formed into something like a wedge. I immediately understood the message; he had gotten between me and the pain of the accident. After that, my awareness shifted again. Suddenly I was looking down at the road. I could see the truck, my motorcycle, and my husband beside me. I watched my own body push up with my broken wrist as the body screamed in pain. I was observing it, but didn’t feel the pain. Emergency crews arrived and eventually life-flighted me to the hospital. From above, I watched as doctors and nurses worked urgently to save my life. In the operating room, I saw something that changed how I understand life. Behind the doctors were Beings made of white light. I can only describe them as angels. They were not solid like people, but there was a clear awareness that they were present. It felt like they were guiding the doctors’ hands. It also felt like heaven and earth were working together. While my body was fighting to survive, my awareness was somewhere else. Later, I learned the word for that place: "transcendence." It was a peaceful awareness where there was no sense of time. Eventually, my son Cory encouraged me to return. He showed me himself in physical form and told me that there are things on earth that I can do that I can’t do there. He showed me images of things I could still experience on earth, such as eating a burger, feeling the wind on my face, hugging loved ones, laughing, and helping others. He reminded me that life on earth is short. When I return to heaven, he will be there. He said that I’ll be there in a minute. Eventually, I came back to my body and began the long process of healing. I couldn’t use my arms or my legs. I had a body cast and a neck brace too. The realization of what I had to face and the healing that needed to happen was overwhelming. But, I focused on the memory of heaven. I started telling people about it as soon as I could talk. The most important thing I brought back from that experience was a message: In heaven, everyone is connected through love. Hurting another would feel like hurting yourself. But when we come to earth, we forget that connection. And the way we remember it is through kindness. Kindness reconnects us. Compassion reconnects us. Helping others reconnects us. Love is the most important thing in life. It is not things, titles, or status.'You’re going to come with me for a little while, but you’re not going to stay.'
