Experience Description

I went to sleep on the operating table and woke up in heaven. In front of me was a very large bush with beautiful, multicolored flowers on it. Each flower itself was also multicolored.

A few months after this experience, I received a catalog in an email and there were flowers exactly what I saw in heaven. I had never seen them on earth before. I took a screenshot of the flowers and went back later to find the catalog and it was gone. I have not been able to find the picture of those flowers anywhere else. I still have the screenshot of the flowers.

The air in heaven smelled like carnations to me.

There were no shadows anywhere; not under the trees or in the bushes.

I turned to the right and Jesus was there. Somehow, I could see him from behind even though I was beside him. I was holding his hand. We were walking on a path that was covered with smooth, river rocks. The rocks were very smooth and colored in browns and tans. They were only the size of a quarter and up to a fifty cent piece. On the right side of the path that we were walking on were very tall, dark green, cypress trees. There were no dead leaves or branches.

Jesus was wearing a long, white robe that didn't touch his feet. He had a thin gold belt around his waist. His wavy hair was thick and went to just below his shoulders. I never got to see his face.

I think I didn't get to see his face because he knew I would be unwilling to come back if I saw his face.

We held hands as we walked along the path. To the left of the path were a lot of very tall trees.

The next thing I knew I was awake and complaining about pain in my arm. I begged them to put me back to sleep so that I could go back to the garden.

At the time of your experience, was there an associated life-threatening event? Yes
I have had two brain aneurysms up to this point. The first brain aneurysm was April 6, 2024. The second brain aneurysm was September 5, 2024. In August of 2024, they determined I had a second brain aneurysm. They decided they would watch it for a period of time. It was only 6 millimeters at the time they found it. I had a really horrible headache, and my husband was driving me to the hospital, but we stopped partway because it was hurting so bad I couldn't take it. We called 911 and the ambulance met us. My blood pressure was 233/130. (When I'm in terrible pain, my blood pressure goes very high.) They took me to the hospital and observed me for a couple of days. They decided to do a neural intervention on the 5th of September. I have venous insufficiency. They didn't start looking for additional IVs until they had me in the operating room. I was already under when they put the tourniquet on my arm. They put four IVs in the arm and they forgot to take off the tourniquet. The neurosurgeons said I went to heaven because I had a lactic acid buildup because of the tourniquet.

The smells and the colors were intense.

It seemed like I was there for only a couple of minutes.

The light was brilliant. And there were no shadows.

What emotions did you feel during the experience? I was so joyful to be with Jesus and to be in his garden.

I have been a Christian since June 18th 1967. My grandmother wrote the date in the family Bible. I have loved Jesus since I asked him to be my savior.

I knew that Jesus loved me and that there would be peace in heaven. I did not know that there would not be any shadows, and there would be such beautiful flowers and trees.

Did you have a change in your values and beliefs because of your experience? Yes
I have zero fear of death.

Did you seem to encounter a mystical being or presence, or hear an unidentifiable voice? I encountered a definite being, or a voice clearly of mystical or unearthly origin
There was joy and peace walking with Jesus!

I saw Jesus!

I saw Jesus and I walked with him and held his hand.

I was more alive there than I ever was here. One thing I failed to mention is that there is no pain there!

I have a knowing when I meet someone whether they know Jesus as Savior or not. I have walked up to probably hundreds of people and said to them, 'I have a question for you. I think I know the answer, but I just want to ask if you know Jesus as your Savior.' They always do, and I tell them that I saw Him in their face, or I heard Him in their voice. They are very encouraged by me seeing Jesus in them. Once I heard a woman speaking behind me in Walmart and I turned around and said to her, 'You know Jesus as your Savior, don't you?' She said, 'Yes, how did you know?' And I told her that I heard Him in her voice. Once a couple was walking out of Walmart as I was walking in. I stopped them and said, 'You know Jesus, don't you?' The wife said, 'As a matter of fact, my husband is a minister. And yes, we do know Jesus, and we love Him. How did you know?' I told her I saw Him in their faces. I can't explain it, but when I hear someone's voice who knows Jesus, there's this roundness or smoothness in their voice that I don't hear in other people.

Was the experience difficult to express in words? Uncertain
The colors were so intense that I can't describe them. The air in heaven was like a caress.

How accurately do you remember the experience in comparison to other life events that occurred around the time of the experience? I remember the experience more accurately than other life events that occurred around the time of the experience
If I stare off in the distance, I can still see what I saw there.

I can see someone's face or hear their voice and know whether they know Jesus or not.

Are there one or several parts of your experience that are especially meaningful or significant to you? There is no pain between death and heaven.

I told the nurses in the operating room or recovery room, whichever place it was, that I wanted them to put me back to sleep so I could go back to the garden.

Did you have any knowledge of near death experience (NDE) prior to your experience? Yes
It did not affect my experience in any way. I died before and I did not see heaven, or at least I do not remember seeing heaven.

What did you believe about the reality of your experience shortly (days to weeks) after it happened? Experience was definitely real
Because I can still see heaven when I look in the distance.

I had never seen those flowers or that bush before. I went to heaven. A few weeks after my experience, I received an email with a picture of the flowers that I saw there. I took a screenshot of those flowers and then later went back to look at the catalog, and the catalog was gone. I still have the screenshot of those flowers, and I have not been able to find them anywhere else.
