Experience Description

I was heading to work at dawn while it was still pretty dark. It had snowed enough the day before, that plowing of the roads had to be done. Driving conditions were clear. I was driving the 40 mph speed limit along a rural winding road.

The next moment, I remembered seeing trees out the passenger window. I realized the car was turning, yet it seemed to be happening in slow motion. Next, I saw flashes of my life. Pictures flashed like an old-fashioned movie reel. There were pictures with family when I was a toddler and going forward to the present time. I recalled feeling sadness and perhaps judgment with one or some of these pictures. There may have been future flashes, but I could not remember. Then I looked to see the car spinning in the opposite direction with trees turning in the opposite window. It felt like my car and situation was being controlled; like I was on marionette strings. It felt like a perceptual blip in my reality.

The car moved very slowly to the right curb and stopped. My heart was pounding and I could not process what just happened. I got out of the car and saw I had a flat front tire. When I turned around to look at the road behind me I saw a large patch of black ice that left 360-degree skid marks on both sides of the road. I spun around, first missing the guardrail on the right by a couple of inches. Then I spun left, missing that guardrail by a few inches.

What must have happened quickly seemed very slow motion to me. I could not reconcile it and I felt like I was in shock. There was no way I controlled the steering wheel or brake. I was frazzled, scared, and perplexed. Thank God no other cars were on the road near me. I was not myself for several weeks afterwards.

It seemed in slow motion while the event occurred. I believe more than several scenes from my life were shown but cannot remember details. While processing later I thought the event must have happened quickly.

I knew an angel of God saved me. It gave me a sense of value I had never had before. I wanted to give God all the good I could in the awareness I had.

It took time to process but I wanted everyone to know God is here.

Something I could not see and barely perceived had saved me from certain death.

How accurately do you remember the experience in comparison to other life events that occurred around the time of the experience? I do not know how my remembrance of the experience compares to my remembrance of other life events that occurred around the time of the experience
I had very deep processing of the event over a long period of time. I believe I was traumatized. Not detailed memories as we know memory. It changed my belief about God and him being directly involved in my life. I knew I was saved by an angel.

Do you have any psychic, non-ordinary or other special gifts after your experience that you did not have before the experience? Yes
I believed in the world of the spiritual.

Are there one or several parts of your experience that are especially meaningful or significant to you? God loves me deeply enough even in my shameful moments. I will rise to be all that I can for the purposes he planned.

Have you ever shared this experience with others? Yes
Right away when I made it to work that morning. They did not seem to be too affected by my shock sadly.

God was in control.
