Experience Description

It was three days after my close friend's eighteen-year-old daughter had died in a sudden accident overseas. My friend and I often attended the group healings of a Tibetan Qigong healer named Master Wang. A healing was scheduled for that day, and we decided to go. I sat on a folding chair in a circle of perhaps one hundred people. My friend sat behind a half-wall for privacy due to her grief. I had attended many healings but had never experienced anything like what happened that day.

As we sat with eyes closed, Master Wang began to chant. Immediately I saw my friend's daughter standing directly before me. My eyes were closed, but it did not matter; I was "seeing." She was radiantly healthy and happy. I held out my arms and called her name, beyond delighted she was there. She stepped toward me and turned to sit in my lap. I embraced her tightly and told her how happy I was to see her, all without speaking aloud. For quite a while I held her in this joyful embrace and told her how much I loved and missed her.

Then suddenly I was aware she was with me and not her mother. I felt instant guilt, though I need not have. She left me and walked to her mother, whom I could "see" behind the half-wall. She approached her mother, knelt before her, and put her head in my friend's lap. My friend leaned down and embraced her. For the longest time they held each other. I was crying.

Then the daughter began to shrink smaller and smaller until she was no bigger than a kidney bean. At that point she entered her mother's body. I could "see," in an x-ray-like way, as she re-entered her mother's ovary.

Immediately afterwards, a portal opened in the "sky" above me. A waterfall of brilliant white light, heavier than any other light. This light was more like liquid, and brighter than anything I had ever seen. It began to pour over me. This light was exponentially brighter, more radiant, and heavier than sunlight. Most amazing of all, it was light but also love: the most pure, perfect, unconditional, untainted, nonjudgmental, all-forgiving love I have ever felt, light-years beyond human love or any love on Earth. It was the source of all love.

I sat with legs crossed in the folding chair, eyes closed, hands palm upward, mouth open wide, head tilted back. I drank in and absorbed every molecule of this lovelight that washed over me for the next forty-five minutes, until Master Wang stopped chanting and ended the session.

I ask for guidance from those beyond on a regular basis.

What is your religion now? Other or several faiths
Spiritual, with no religious affiliation, but much stronger than before this event.

Did your experience include features consistent with your earthly beliefs? Content that was entirely not consistent with the beliefs you had at the time of your experience
I had no belief in God beforehand.

Did you have a change in your values and beliefs because of your experience? Yes
I've become spiritual, seeking even more than I did before (was always a seeker), trying to reconcile my deeds here on Earth with the knowledge of the afterlife and other upcoming lives.

Did you seem to encounter a mystical being or presence, or hear an unidentifiable voice? I encountered a definite being, or a voice clearly of mystical or unearthly origin
The light was from a being that I could not see because the light itself was so brilliant and overpowering.

Did you encounter or become aware of any beings who previously lived on earth who are described by name in religions (for example: Jesus, Muhammad, Buddha, etc.)? No

During your experience, did you gain information about premortal existence? No

During your experience, did you gain information about universal connection or oneness? Yes
As I said, I believe I encountered God and was enveloped in God's Almighty LOVE.

During your experience, did you gain information about the existence of God? Yes
I believe I encountered God as the radiant, all-knowing, omnipotent love-light, which I knew to be true without knowing how or why.

Concerning our Earthly lives other than Religion:

During your experience, did you gain special knowledge or information about your purpose? Yes
I knew that death, which is where the LOVE Realm is, is the 'real' life, and that life is a pale, though busy, side trip.

During your experience, did you gain information about the meaning of life? Yes
LOVE. It's all about LOVE. Everything else is of minuscule importance.

During your experience, did you gain information about an afterlife? Yes
The light that was love that was encompassing me was a being of such magnitude that it was beyond life and death. I also encountered my friend's deceased daughter, who was so alive that I knew she wasn't dead in the way I had thought of death before.

Did you gain information about how to live our lives? No

During your experience, did you gain information about life's difficulties, challenges and hardships? Yes
LOVE is the healer of everything.

During your experience, did you gain information about love? Yes
LOVE is the energy that powers the Universe and us.

What life changes occurred in your life after your experience? Large changes in my life
In the years since this experience, I have thought greatly on its mysteries, and as time has passed, I've become more compassionate and loving, as best I can be. I have tried to be my better and higher self. I have come to feel strongly that this life and what I do with it to grow love here on Earth is the most important work of my life. I now believe in karma and reincarnation and try to act accordingly.

Have your relationships changed specifically because of your experience? Yes
I had a lot of childhood trauma and had problems with trust. Over time, through integrating this intense experience and therapy, I've learned how to be loving, to accept love, and to choose healthy love.

After the NDE:

Was the experience difficult to express in words? Yes
Difficult to express because we don't really have the words to describe this love. It was love from another dimension where the parameters are far more intense and all-encompassing. And yet I felt like it was still somewhat tamped down because its full blast would overwhelm me.

How accurately do you remember the experience in comparison to other life events that occurred around the time of the experience? I remember the experience more accurately than other life events that occurred around the time of the experience
The experience was exponentially more vivid than anything in 'real' life, even all the trauma around the death of my close friend's daughter.

Do you have any psychic, non-ordinary or other special gifts after your experience that you did not have before the experience? Yes
I've continued to have a variety of psychic experiences: messages from my father after death, messages from the spirits of my three aborted children, intense experiences of previous lives or lives yet to come (not sure which), as well as experiencing a (remote) NDE at the moment of the death of my mother-in-law. Also, I've had lots of somewhat mundane psychic events, like knowing who's about to call me a moment before they call, knowing the outcome of important events beforehand, and also knowing what people want or need at the time of their death (I have been a hospice volunteer).

Are there one or several parts of your experience that are especially meaningful or significant to you? The experience of receiving that quality and quantity of love has made me a better person and the whole experience has definitely lessened my fear of death. I no longer fear death, though I still fear dying (in certain circumstances, like violence, natural disaster, or alone). Also, my close friend, whose daughter died, had her own intense, super-real, and altogether different experience during that healing session, which greatly relieved her grief (at least for a while).

Have you ever shared this experience with others? Yes
I shared it with my friend whose daughter died immediately afterwards. She had her own equally amazing yet entirely different experience. We were both profoundly healed beyond even the immediate grief.

Did you have any knowledge of near death experience (NDE) prior to your experience? Yes
I had read some books, 'Life After Life,' and others about reincarnation.

What did you believe about the reality of your experience shortly (days to weeks) after it happened? Experience was definitely real
It was so much more real than 'real' life. It has not faded or altered, except it has integrated itself deeper and deeper into my life over time.

What do you believe about the reality of your experience now? Experience was definitely real
I believe that I was gifted a fantastic experience designed to be life-altering, definitely thanks to God, but also thanks to my friend's deceased daughter. (Also, tangentially, I was raised by atheists and had zero religious training as a child, and before I even knew about God or that there was a god that some people believed in, I had 'created' my own God, who was a giant who was reading the book of our lives. Every time he was actually reading, we were in motion, but when he'd put the book down to do other things, we froze in the middle of whatever we were doing, with no consciousness of our frozen state. I believed this for years.)

At any time in your life, has anything ever reproduced any part of the experience? Yes
As mentioned, I experienced the NDE remotely at the moment of my mother-in-law's death. But that's a whole other story, and I'm tired of typing ;)

Did the questions asked and information that you provided accurately and comprehensively describe your experience? Yes
I'm sure there's more. But I downloaded a lot here.

Anything else to add? I wish everyone could experience what I did.
