Experience Description

When I was 14, I was in my high school gym during a physical education class. There was a trend where students would squat down, breathe deeply several times, stand up quickly, hold their breath, and have someone press on their chest. It was supposed to make you faint. Most people did it with two friends supporting them. Nobody wanted to help me try it, so I decided to do it alone.

The next thing I remember, I was no longer in the gym. I found myself in a space filled with amber-colored light. It wasn’t the loving or radiant light many people describe. It was just a warm, distinct amber glow. I felt like I was watching memories, almost as if they were playing in front of me. I don’t recall any beings, messages, or emotions; only the sense of observing moments from my life. Then I came back abruptly.

It was the end of the school day, and my mother had come to pick me up. When she saw the large lump on my forehead, she took me straight to the hospital. I had fallen forward when I fainted and hit my head. I didn’t have a concussion, but they kept me overnight for observation.

At the time, I didn’t think much of the experience. It didn’t change my life immediately. Years later, when my mother passed away, I went through a spiritual awakening. That’s when this memory resurfaced with new meaning. I began to feel more connected to other people’s experiences and more open to accepting these kinds of events as real. Looking back, this brief moment at 14 feels like the first hint of something I didn’t understand until much later.
