Experience Description

I was following Jesus quite intensely, fasting, repenting of sins, forgiving all others, and so on. All my childhood traumas surfaced to be looked at again, and I searched for who I needed to forgive or what I needed to repent for. I started experiencing what people would call "spiritual warfare" from the demonic influence in my psyche.

Then, I was fishing one day when I suddenly felt a lightning bolt shock up my spine. I was suddenly out of my body and in another realm. I saw the gates of heaven glowing with a gold more brilliant than our normal view of it. Beings made of light stood behind the gates. They were humanoid beings without wings, but they had no facial features as they were made of pure light. I heard a voice that sounded like thunder say, "Why are you here?" I was terrified and repented.

Then I was back in my body and filled with bliss and ecstasy for the coming days. During which time, I suddenly had abilities I didn't have before: clairvoyance, clairaudience, spontaneous healing, what seemed like telepathy and astral travel, and so on.

During that time, I had a second out-of-body experience. It was the same sensation as before; I felt a lightning bolt up my spine and then I was out of my body. I saw otherworldly beings (aliens), tall and blue. I am trying to remember, but they may have been of different species from what I recall. I also saw what appeared to be a giant lying dead on the ground. Then I was back in my body.

How do you consider the content of your experience? Both pleasant AND distressing

Did you feel separated from your body? I clearly left my body and existed outside it

How did your highest level of consciousness and alertness during the experience compare to your normal everyday consciousness and alertness? I was as fully alert and aware of the experience as I am now like nothing was different except I was in another world.

At what time during the experience were you at your highest level of consciousness? Normal consciousness and alertness

Were your thoughts speeded up? No

Did time seem to speed up or slow down? Everything seemed to be happening at once; or time stopped or lost all meaning
Time was inconsequential, I don’t remember experiencing time.

Were your senses more vivid than usual? More vivid than usual

After the event I heard my deceased grandmother reach out to me to say she was proud of me.

Did you see or feel surrounded by a brilliant light? A light clearly of mystical or other-worldly origin

Did you see an unearthly light? Yes
Beings made of light. And I was the light at the same time and light surrounded me at home after the experiences.

Did you seem to enter another world? A clearly mystical or unearthly realm
I saw the gates of heaven. Nothing more nothing less.

What emotions did you feel during the experience? I had the feeling of ecstasy and bliss after the experiences but during I was frightened.

Did you have a feeling of peace or pleasantness? No

Did you feel a sense of harmony or unity with the universe? I felt united or one with the world

Did you suddenly understand everything? Everything about the universe
When I returned to my body I was getting constant downloads of universal knowledge, I understood the Bible on a far deeper level and the nature of life, and I suddenly through compassion would resonate with others and get intuitive information about them and their life.

Did scenes from your past come back? My past flashed before me, out of my control
I want to say yes but not exactly. Leading up to the event I had my life flash before my eyes. But I didn’t have a “life review”. I saw my life flash before my eyes in a blip. After the event it was like I was possessed by the Holy Spirit, this is the only way I can describe and the Holy Spirit was working in me to fix my programming, I would meditate and the holy spirit was somehow working to edit my memories. Healing my traumas…

Did you come to a border or point of no return? No

God, Spiritual and Religion:

What was your religion prior to your experience? Christian- Protestant
I was following Jesus religiously at the time of experience. Repenting of sins, forgiving all others, increasing my capacity for compassion towards all others, fasting etc…

Have your religious practices changed? Yes
I’m leaning Hindu but still hold Jesus to the highest regard in terms of someone to follow after and emulate.

What is your religion now? Do not know
Well, the NDE was biblical, but my impression of God following the experience was more Hindu so right now my beliefs of being reorganized.

Did your experience include features consistent with your earthly beliefs? Content that was both consistent and not consistent with the beliefs you had at the time of your experience
I never expected to see the gates of heaven, beings made of light or giants and aliens, but they’re not inconsistent with the broad Christian worldview including the book of Enoch. But, what was inconsistent was the more gnostic impression of something of negative beings harvesting my energy. Was also not consistent that my impression of God following the event was that we are all God experiencing being human and the “I AM” voice I heard and hear ever since. While the great I AM is recognized in all Abrahamic traditions, my impression of the I AM was more in line with the Atman of the Hindu tradition. I am that.

Did you have a change in your values and beliefs because of your experience? No

Did you seem to encounter a mystical being or presence, or hear an unidentifiable voice? I encountered a definite being, or a voice clearly of mystical or unearthly origin
Heard a booming voice like thunder and saw beings. Aliens and giants and people made of light.

Did you encounter or become aware of any beings who previously lived on earth who are described by name in religions (for example: Jesus, Muhammad, Buddha, etc.)? No

During your experience, did you gain information about premortal existence? Yes
I got the impression that I pre-existed birth, but I did not get any clear information on this.

During your experience, did you gain information about universal connection or oneness? Yes
I realized I am everything and everyone. This feeling carried with me long after. I would look at others and see no division between myself and them. Non-duality is the ultimate reality.

During your experience, did you gain information about the existence of God? Yes
Well, this one is complicated, I heard a booming voice that said “why are you here?” Maybe that was “God” capital G. But I don’t know exactly, because I also came to the realization that everything is God, all there is is God, and I am that. I am that I am. The eternal I AM became awake in me. I hear the voice that says “I AM” in my being ever since.

Concerning our Earthly lives other than Religion:

During your experience, did you gain special knowledge or information about your purpose? Uncertain
I got the impression that what we do doesn't matter beyond being a kind and compassionate person. You can do whatever you want, but we suffer when we do things outside of love.

During your experience, did you gain information about the meaning of life? Uncertain
I didn’t get a clear impression other than I was speaking with God through people after the event and they basically told me to be more careful about how I live. But my personal impression is it’s all about how much we can love. Even when it hurts. And yes, after the event I was having strange encounters with people where they would say things to me from the view of God and the people would have no recollection of the conversation.

During your experience, did you gain information about an afterlife? Yes
I got the clear impression that the beings made of light that I saw were deceased humans in a state of eternal bliss on the other side.

Did you gain information about how to live our lives? No

During your experience, did you gain information about life's difficulties, challenges and hardships? Yes
I got the impression the my energy was being harvested by perhaps what you’d call negative beings or archons. Although I didn’t have the words to describe that at the time. Terrifying really. But I was also exorcised during this experience so… I think that’s over.

During your experience, did you gain information about love? Yes
Love is the answer, perfect love casts out fear. Do not be afraid of anything. Because we are one, why would I ever not want to be in a state of loving compassion towards others?

What life changes occurred in your life after your experience? No changes in my life
I believe we should fear nothing. We should love more. We should be compassionate towards all others because on a deeper level of your being you are them. I am probably more spiritual and less specifically religious because I found there is deep truth in multiple spiritual traditions and I will be on a life long journey of learning more now.

Have your relationships changed specifically because of your experience? Yes
Family and friends want me to stop talking about it and they think I’m Crazy now.

Was the experience difficult to express in words? Yes
How do I describe something that is more real and tangible than real life?

How accurately do you remember the experience in comparison to other life events that occurred around the time of the experience? I remember the experience more accurately than other life events that occurred around the time of the experience
I remember it clearly. I asked to forget so that I could go on living a normal life, but I don’t forget. I remember. Clearly. I also asked for the excess of abilities to be removed. They were removed to an extent, I still see auras and hear the angelic and sometimes the demonic but not often anymore. I still hear the I AM.

Do you have any psychic, non-ordinary or other special gifts after your experience that you did not have before the experience? Yes
Clairaudience and clairvoyance and my chronic back problems healed and I had full access to all my Chakras. I briefly could astral project and see places and things in time and hear peoples throughts in the astral.

Are there one or several parts of your experience that are especially meaningful or significant to you? It was all meaningful. The most meaningful thing in my life with exception of beyond my daughter.

Have you ever shared this experience with others? Yes
Days after I shared it. Most people think I lost my mind.

Did you have any knowledge of near death experience (NDE) prior to your experience? Yes
I knew of them.

What did you believe about the reality of your experience shortly (days to weeks) after it happened? Experience was definitely real
It was real. I understand that people think it was all in my head, and that may be but it was still real. More real than life.

Same thing, it was real.
