Experience Description

The physician thought, incorrectly, that I was having a heart attack and gave me nitroglycerin. This action caused my blood pressure to completely drop.

I recall my extremities shutting down and the doctor calling for the crash cart.

I had an out-of-body experience and was able to watch the staff working on me.

At some point, I realized they were talking about me.

As this was a walk-in clinic, I heard them call for an ambulance and heard the sirens as they arrived.

When the paramedics arrived, they argued with the doctor and stated that my EKG did not indicate a heart attack. At that point, the paramedics were able to revive me and I woke up.

I was acutely aware of my surroundings and the events. It was as if I could feel what was happening.

At what time during the experience were you at your highest level of consciousness? More consciousness and alertness than normal

Did time seem to speed up or slow down? Everything seemed to be happening at once; or time stopped or lost all meaning
Time seemed to stop and accelerate at the same time.

Being a Christian, I fully expected that I would experience some form of an afterlife. Perhaps my experience was too short.

Since I didn't experience a tunnel or light, I often question if there is an afterlife.

There is no way for me to describe the experience without experiencing it. I could not move any part of my body, and I was not seeing with my eyes, but I could see everything in my mind.

I can still remember every single detail of the event as if it occurred today.
