Experience Description I had my NDE about three months ago. I remember I got out of bed around 11 PM to use the bathroom and started to feel very strange. I reached out to brace myself against the wall because I was losing my balance. I found myself falling to the floor between the doorway and the wall. I felt myself starting to come out of my body. It was like going through a doorway. I could actually feel myself coming out of my body, with like a gentle tug. Everything looked me like I was in the middle of a white cloud. That color of white was all around me. I didn't see any streets or golden cities. I saw an archway, but it too was made out of light. It was a little darker than the light around me. Inside the archway was the same as the light that surrounded me, but you couldn't see into it. What was weird was that I could see everything to the left and right of me as clearly and fully as what was in front of me. I didn't see a bright light; the light was all around me. I wasn't scared, not in the slightest bit. I didn't see any angelic beings. I saw no groups of people, but somehow I could feel that they were there. I think they may have been on the other side of the archway. Looking straight out, I could tell my grandfather was standing off to my left at a distance. He was standing there, watching me. Suddenly, he was standing in front of me and smiling. He was so close, I couldn't finish coming out of my body. He never said a word to me, but I knew he wasn't going to let me go any further. That's when I woke up (and yes, my bowels had let go). The EMTs and police were there, and my wife was holding my legs. I had no life review, but I can tell you one thing: since this happened, I can't get enough of watching NDEs and seeing what others have gone through. I also can't stop thinking about the experience. My grandfather passed away back in 1980. He has been gone for so long, that the only time I thought of him was basically when family would bring him up and we would talk about him. I guess I kind of thought I would have seen a sibling or my father, but was surprised to see my grandfather.
