Experience Description

In 2017, I needed to be hospitalized due to a herniated and slipped lumbar disc. That year, I underwent a minimally invasive lumbar fusion surgery. I remember that during the administration of general anesthesia, a double dose was required.

While unconscious during the surgery, I hazily arrived at a fork in the road. One path was a blinding white light, seemingly leading to heaven. Another path was filled with terrifying ghosts in Qing dynasty attire. The final path was covered in red spider lilies, with no one in line. It was eerily quiet.

As I looked toward the underworld road, the King of Hell seemed to be striking my name from a ledger of life and death. He angrily shouted at me, "Get out! You've come to the wrong door." Furthermore, those minor demons chased me away like zombies. When the King of Hell expelled me and removed me from the underworld register, no underworld officers came to arrest me. They simply watched in large numbers as I walked toward that uninhabited path of red spider lilies.

As I walked alone the path I came to a door. When I pushed open the door, it led to the vast, boundless universe. As soon as I entered, I was greeted by the center of the universe. I could distantly see the planets of the solar system. I clearly remember what I saw. My soul gazed upon the stars of the solar system. I initially felt the absence of gravity, though I still maintained a human form. This slowly transformed into a feeling of loneliness, but there was no sense of pain. Just as I was beginning to adapt, a tunnel of golden light opened suddenly. Guanyin said, "Child, do not be afraid, I will send you back." During the journey back, she did not answer any of the questions I asked her. There was only a surge of intense white light, and then an invisible force pushed me back, saying, "It is not yet time." Finally, in a daze, I saw Guanyin holding a vase of willow nectar saying to me, "Child, do not be afraid, I will send you back!" Then she supported me and opened a golden-white tunnel to send me back.

When I woke up, I was already in the hospital room. What does this mean? Recalling after the surgery, the doctor said I required double the anesthesia due to the distribution of blood vessels in my back being more malformed than an average person's. The lumbar fusion surgery involved significant bleeding, and post-operation care. I also needed double the painkillers and albumin to recover. This was not normal for the procedure.

When I looked at the path to the underworld, the King of Hell seemed to be crossing my name out from a ledger of life and death. He shouted angrily at me: 'Hey! (You've come to the wrong door!)' And those little ghosts rushed at me like a swarm. When the King of Hell shouted to remove my name, no underworld officers came to catch me. They just watched as I walked towards that path covered in spider lilies. Later, I walked alone on that path covered in spider lilies. When I pushed open the door to the vast, boundless universe, upon entering, I was greeted by the center of the universe... I could distantly see the solar system and planets... I clearly remember that in 2017, when my soul was gazing at the solar system from afar, I initially felt no gravity but still maintained a human form... It slowly changed to a feeling of solitude but without any sense of pain... Just as I was starting to slowly adapt, a golden light tunnel suddenly opened... Avalokiteshvara said: 'Child, don't be afraid, I will send you back...' But the questions I asked her on the way went unanswered... There was only brilliant white light, then suddenly an invisible force pushed me back, saying: 'It is not yet time.'
