Experience Description

I was driving and was t-boned by a drunk driver who was trying to run a red light. I died instantly along with my then 14-year-old daughter.

I traveled quickly through what I felt and saw as a brilliant light. It was warm all around me. When I opened my eyes, I was standing before my daughter and Jesus Christ. He had his hands on my daughter’s shoulders. Julie was crying. I tried to move my feet, but I couldn’t. Julie started talking to me, telling me how sorry she was for giving me a hard time while I was trying to raise her and her brother. "Please, please forgive me. I love you so much, but I have to stay and you must go back." I started crying and said, "Oh no, I don’t want to be without you." She pointed down and said, "Look, Mom, I’m happier than ever, but you have to go back."

I looked to where she was pointing. I could see myself still in the car, and somebody was trying to start my heart. Then I looked back at Julie; she had wings. She turned and went with Jesus!

I literally felt myself back in my body. I started screaming, "Please, please don’t let me die." I turned and saw my daughter in the back seat. Then I saw my son moving beside me. I was in the hospital for 3 weeks, then transferred to a nursing home for 3 months for rehabilitation. Even though my NDE happened on May 25, 1996, 30 years ago, I remember every detail. I’m told I have a photographic memory.

My children and I were in a fatal crash, hit at high speed by a drunk/drugged driver.

How do you consider the content of your experience? Both pleasant AND distressing

Did you feel separated from your body? I clearly left my body and existed outside it

How did your highest level of consciousness and alertness during the experience compare to your normal everyday consciousness and alertness? When I was in heaven.
I returned to my body with excellent cooking skills, creative arts and crafts, and intuitive writing skills, which I never had before.

At what time during the experience were you at your highest level of consciousness? More consciousness and alertness than normal

Were your thoughts speeded up? Faster than usual

Did time seem to speed up or slow down? Time seemed to go faster or slower than usual
The speed turned from extremely fast to slow motion.

Were your senses more vivid than usual? More vivid than usual

It felt like I was traveling down a bright hallway.

Did you see any beings in your experience? I actually saw them

Did you encounter or become aware of any deceased beings? Yes
My daughter was waiting for me.

Did you see or feel surrounded by a brilliant light? An unusually bright light

Brilliance of white light, feeling like I was wrapped up in a blanket.

What emotions did you feel during the experience? Tears.

I slowly realized that my daughter was physically gone and became an angel.

I didn't have complete faith and I had strayed.

Did you have a change in your values and beliefs because of your experience? Yes
I became a reiki healer and an empath.

Jesus Christ.

Absolutely. I stood before Jesus. I knew it was the real Jesus by remembering his portrait in my family home.

I returned to my body holding the ability to heal others and special abilities to share with others to improve their lives.

My daughter told me that my life on earth was challenging and that I would have better and healthier relationships by going back.

I am greatly grateful and intuitive.

I began trusting myself more. I take nothing for granted.

How accurately do you remember the experience in comparison to other life events that occurred around the time of the experience? I remember the experience as accurately as other life events that occurred around the time of the experience
I have lost my entire family. My photographic memory doesn't allow me to be selective in my memories or forget everything that has happened to me. Believe me when I say I've tried to forget. My brain was altered in that crash. Along with life-threatening injuries, I sustained an open gash and a severe concussion.

Do you have any psychic, non-ordinary or other special gifts after your experience that you did not have before the experience? Yes
Excellent cooking skills, artwork, and a published poet.

Are there one or several parts of your experience that are especially meaningful or significant to you? Being with my daughter.

I couldn't delve deeper into my experience until my physical injuries healed.
