Experience Description

I arrived at the hospital for childbirth. During contractions, I was in a room in the back of the delivery ward. My husband and I were the only ones there. Monitors were attached to me, but no drugs had been given yet. I had been having contractions for hours and was exhausted. I told my husband I wanted to go to sleep. Then, everything went black before I touched the pillow.

Then I was in the dark and felt no pain. The contractions were gone. I felt a sense of complete peace and calm. I then felt a sense of floating up a tunnel. I was more at peace than I had ever felt in my life. I was not scared and no longer tired. I felt fully awake and was still floating upward.

Then I asked, "What about the baby?" I was upset. I couldn't leave the baby. My full focus was on the fact that I could not leave the baby. I was communicating with multiple entities and getting them to understand that I could not leave. The baby was left behind and was not with me. I had to return to my body.

I woke up to my husband yelling my name and shaking me. I was sitting up now, not lying down. I responded, "What?" He acted like he had seen a ghost. Doctors ran in and checked the monitor readout, then gave me a shot of drugs. I had hot flashes and my veins burned.

Later, I checked my medical records, and it showed a normal delivery. But the military doctors did not want to get in trouble for not attending to me during my contractions.

My husband said the monitors had stopped beeping and that I was not breathing. He grabbed me and yelled my name several times.

I heard my name once.

I was in the tunnel but never saw a light. They did not communicate with me, but I knew multiple beings were listening. I repeated multiple times, "What about the baby?" I had not found out the baby's sex because I wanted to be surprised at birth.

I felt they understood that my desire to return was very strong.

My return from the tunnel was instantaneous.

I seem to have a sense of intuition. I hear a voice or have an understanding about day-to-day situations. I will ask in my head what I should do, and the answer comes to me and I trust it. I communicate my feelings to my family about their lives. I tell them what I sense, and they can follow it or not.

I am 70, and since my experience I have not feared death. To me, it is a transition. I was allowed to return and have this life. I am blessed.
