Experience Description

I was in complete blackness and could not see anything. It felt like I was floating in nothingness. A couch appeared with what looked like bedside tables on each side; followed by a massive screen in front of it. I could sense two entities behind me. I wasn't worried or fearful of them, although I couldn't see them. I could feel a sense of calm surrounded them.

As I sat down on the couch, images and videos of my childhood began playing. It was a very pleasant feeling. The images soon changed to my then-current relationship. The theme was showing how I was mistreated by getting hit or kicked, and then cheating on me. I felt very sad and upset at seeing this. At that moment, the entity to my right placed what I could only describe as its hand on my shoulder. The sadness slowly went away.

I came to in my recovery bed. I could only remember snippets and images. The memories were very blurry, but I was changed a little. I didn't really want anyone visiting me in the hospital, except my mum and dad. I was feeling stronger somehow.

At the time of your experience, was there an associated life-threatening event? Yes
Went to hospital with massive pain. Sent home saying it was an infection. Back and forth to hospital over the next few days. Day 4, skin grey and eyes going black. Day 5 I was taken to hospital. Massive high temps and hallucinations. Needed surgery, but surgery was delayed due to a surgeons strike. Day six surgery. Almost died on the table. Out in recovery that night, body crashed. Temps falling below 34 and blood pressure was 60 over 40. Last thing I heard was ' This patient is on prednisone. Code Blue'

How do you consider the content of your experience? Both pleasant AND distressing

Did you feel separated from your body? I lost awareness of my body

How did your highest level of consciousness and alertness during the experience compare to your normal everyday consciousness and alertness? When I was upset and the entity put their hand on my shoulder.
Hard to explain. I someone how know that the pain I'm experiencing is for some reason.

At what time during the experience were you at your highest level of consciousness? More consciousness and alertness than normal

Were your thoughts speeded up? No

Did time seem to speed up or slow down? Everything seemed to be happening at once; or time stopped or lost all meaning
Very strange. It was like watching my child hood, followed by all the bad in my then relationship playing out in sequence, but also seemed to play all at the same time.

Were your senses more vivid than usual? More vivid than usual

Please compare your vision during the experience to your everyday vision that you had immediately prior to the time of the experience extremely focused. Everything around me blacked out except for the couch I was on and the screen in front of me.

Complete darkness all around me. No floor, ceiling or walls. But a couch and what looked like bedside tables on each side with a giant screen in front of the couch.

What emotions did you feel during the experience? pain, sadness, followed by peace and strength

Did you have a feeling of peace or pleasantness? Relief or calmness

Did you feel a sense of harmony or unity with the universe? I felt no longer in conflict with nature

Did you suddenly understand everything? Everything about myself or others
Became more aware of my inner thoughts and feelings. How I was being changed by those around me. I am stronger then that.

Did scenes from your past come back? I remembered many past events
Videos and snippets of my life as a young child, then focused on all the bad I put up with in my then relationship. The cheating, the verbal abuse. All were true and I found out even more after I left the relationship.

What was your religion prior to your experience? Do not know
No religious background at all. I went to Sunday school when I was young, but never had any religion pushed on me what so ever.

Have your religious practices changed? Uncertain
I'm more aware. I believe in the universe and that one day I will return. I believe in soul growth moments. That challengers in our lives are there for a reason.

What is your religion now? Other or several faiths
I believe we are all part of this universe. Experiencing a human life before going home.

Did your experience include features consistent with your earthly beliefs? Content that was both consistent and not consistent with the beliefs you had at the time of your experience
I always entertained the idea of something greater in the universe then just us on earth. But having non human entities by your side and having the immense feeling of calm and peace. A feeling that I have ever felt before.

Did you have a change in your values and beliefs because of your experience? Yes
I don't like the term god as it sounds singular. I believe we are all part of this universe and one day will return to where we came from.

Did you seem to encounter a mystical being or presence, or hear an unidentifiable voice? I encountered a definite being, or a voice clearly of mystical or unearthly origin
There were two entities, out of sight, but were behind me. Gentle and caring.

Did you encounter or become aware of any beings who previously lived on earth who are described by name in religions (for example: Jesus, Muhammad, Buddha, etc.)? No

There must be an existence outside our earthly realm. The two entities behind me. The sense of calmness. It wasn't liek anything here on earth.

During your experience, did you gain information about life's difficulties, challenges and hardships? Yes
Yes. My own difficulties and hardships that I put up with for so long. Videos played back of all the times that I was put down, cheated on. Verbally abused.

What life changes occurred in your life after your experience? Large changes in my life
Stood up for myself and righted the wrongs done to me. I feel stronger as a person and speak my mind instead of holding it in.

Left a toxic partner and found my true soul mate.

Was the experience difficult to express in words? Yes
Really hard to explain, But I only really told one very close friend (Now my wife) and the more I talked about it, the more clear my memories of the event became.

How accurately do you remember the experience in comparison to other life events that occurred around the time of the experience? I do not know how my remembrance of the experience compares to my remembrance of other life events that occurred around the time of the experience
I was worried that it was just a dream. But the more I talked to a close friend about it, the more I remember and the more detail I also remember.

Do you have any psychic, non-ordinary or other special gifts after your experience that you did not have before the experience? Uncertain
I can sense if someone is a good or bad person. I know the people to stay clear of.

Are there one or several parts of your experience that are especially meaningful or significant to you? Seeing the bad I put up with. Feeling those feelings. Knowing that will never happen again.

Have you ever shared this experience with others? Yes
I shared it the next day with a very close friend. We are now married. Haven't really told any one else.

Watched a few documentaries on the subject. Never really gave it much thought.

What did you believe about the reality of your experience shortly (days to weeks) after it happened? Experience was probably real
Wondering if it was a dream or if it did happen.

What do you believe about the reality of your experience now? Experience was definitely real
Talking about it to my now wife over and over again, I know it was real. I feel it was real.
