Experience Description

After returning home from a camping and boating trip, I was quickly trying to clean up the boat that was still trailered. My husband had called out from the driveway that our puppy looked stuck between the rails of our deck, so I rushed to get down from the splash deck. When I went to step down the ladder, my body just fell back, off of the elevated boat deck, maybe just 5 feet off the ground. I screamed as I tried to grab anything to stop my fall. My lower back hit first, slamming my head onto the concrete driveway. I was instantly unconscious.

I vividly remember what I experienced next. There was the brightest, most dazzling light. Like white sunshine in a midnight sky. I felt complete peace, no pain, and rest. Flowers started to show up along the bottom of my vision, and a silhouette began to emerge. I thought I was about to meet God, until the image became my living husband, watering the flowers. He told me, "It's not your time yet, Britt. It's not your time." And I woke up. To the confusion, to the pain. But I was still very aware of the experience. I remember feeling like I should tell the EMT on the ambulance ride to the ER, but being scared he would think I was crazy. Now I share my story freely, knowing that others have had NDEs.

Did God send me an "image" of love so I would remember to return? I don't have an answer for my vision. But I have started to live with more purpose to grow closer to my Lord and Savior, to bring others to know His love.
