Experience Description I am sick from asbestos exposure, which caused water buildup. This caused my heart attack. My youngest daughter noticed that I was dying. She got me on the floor and started CPR. I woke looking into the face of a paramedic. He was asking me if I knew where I was at. Then everything went black. I woke up in the ambulance and asked if I was dying. He replied, "Not in my bus." I had enough time to commend my soul to Christ, then again everything went black. I woke in the emergency room with the doctor asking me if I wanted a DNR (a do not resuscitate order) . My wife said, "No." It was the next day before the world came back into focus. I started to remember something happened during those moments I had blacked out. I had an awareness and was standing in a dark room. I felt warm, unafraid, and at peace. Then a thin crack of sun, like a luminous light, started to appear. This is where I awoke. It took many hours of reflection but the experience has deepened.
