Experience Description

It was a rainy day, and I was horseback riding as usual. There was a horse that had come from outside Saudi Arabia, very tall and broad. He belonged to one of the owners, and no one rode him. I used to go to him every day, talk to him, and touch him. When they began training him, they allowed the best people to ride him, and they used two bridles because he was unruly. But that day was different. My trainer asked me to ride him for the first time with one bridle, and I had never ridden him before. I did not feel fear. I felt calm, and it was one of the most enjoyable moments. But at one moment, I merged with the horse with my whole being, and I felt that I was him. At that moment, he threw me off violently. I flew high and hit my head on the ground. It was as if I had awakened, but in a different world. Clarity, radiance, expansion. I was light, I was air, I was part of everything. I was there, very far away. A feeling I cannot describe in words.

After a while of this delight, I felt a voice from afar calling my name: 'Bashayer, Bashayer, Bashayer, listen!' I was between the voice and being above everything. Every time my trainer shouted my name, I moved downward like a particle. I began to wonder, 'What is this voice?' I felt cold, and I began to get closer and closer to my body until I entered it. Then I felt the fingertips of my left hand sensing the coldness of the sand I was lying on. I kept focusing on that voice, that voice, until I realized that I was my body now, and I opened my eyes.

My trainer asked me to go to the hospital, but I could not. I asked him to help me sit up, and he helped me. He kept asking me, 'Are you okay?' I seemed to be in shock, more emotional than physical. He was choked up, and I was silent. He brought his car into the arena and said, 'Come on, let's go to the hospital.' I said, 'Just let me stretch out in the car by myself.' My head felt heavy, and I felt no pain in my body. I asked my driver to come, and I went home. The house worker, or whoever looked at me, asked, 'Are you okay?' I did not answer her. I felt I was in shock, went into my room, slept, and refused to go to the hospital. It was as if I felt that sleep would heal me, that strange sleep.

Less than a month later, it was Ramadan. As was my habit, I would buy Eid clothes before Ramadan. But this time, no Eid clothes appealed to me. I did not find anything suitable. Then one day, during the last ten nights, I tore the main tendon in my right foot, and I could not walk for nearly three months. After that, the story of my foot in my life began, and it ended with a divine miracle. God's grace upon me was great, for I now stand on it without pain and without surgery, even though it had been confirmed that my treatment would be surgery.
