Experience Description

I was in a very well-lit place together with other persons in a festive and joyful atmosphere.

I had no recollection of a life on this earth. I only felt a great feeling of wellness and freedom.

Then I heard an inner voice telling me that I must go away. So I was determined to leave. I tried to leave that party without being noticed.

One of the persons saw me and asked me, 'Are you going?'

I answered, 'I must go.'

With a worried look, he replied, 'If you have to, go . . .'

In front of me there were many doors. I didn't know which one to choose. Eventually, I chose one and got into it.

I was in a tunnel that was full of colors. I was moving at an impressive speed rate.

I remember the moment I entered into my brain and I said, 'Oh no! I am back here!'

The opening within me closed up and there was no way to go back.

I realized that the mind is a claustrophobic and painful prison. I understood that consciousness and brain are two different things. Emotions belong to the brain and not to the soul. The feeling of being restrained was truly claustrophobic.

Then I said to myself, 'Now I need to understand what I must do.' I went towards my eyes, where I could feel a dim light.

I woke up outside the surgery room and I took to cry ceaselessly, like newborns into this world do.

At the time of your experience, was there an associated life-threatening event? Yes Surgery-related. Other: Total anaesthesia. I was having surgery for a cancer to my left breast.

How do you consider the content of your experience? Both pleasant AND distressing

Did you feel separated from your body? No I lost awareness of my body

How did your highest level of consciousness and alertness during the experience compare to your normal everyday consciousness and alertness? More consciousness and alertness than normal. I had a feeling of total wellness and freedom.

At what time during the experience were you at your highest level of consciousness and alertness? Everything was very vivid.

Were your senses More vivid than usual? No

Did you pass into or through a tunnel? Yes I crossed the tunnel downward, at a very high speed. It was very colorful; full of colorful orange and red.

Did you see any beings in your experience? No

Did you encounter or become aware of any deceased (or alive) beings? No

Did you see, or feel surrounded by, a brilliant light? An unusually bright light

Did you see an unearthly light? Yes Very intense, and like I had never seen on earth.

Did you seem to enter some other, unearthly world? A clearly mystical or unearthly realm. It was a big party.

What emotions did you feel during the experience? I felt like I was in the shoes of God.

Did you have a feeling of peace or pleasantness? Incredible peace or pleasantness

Did you have a feeling of joy? Incredible joy

Did you feel a sense of harmony or unity with the universe? I felt united or one with the world

During your experience, did you gain information about premortal existence? Yes. It seemed to me that I was at home, that place has been my home since ever.

What life changes occurred in your life after your experience? Large changes in my life. I have no fear of death. In times of fear or discomfort, I think about those moments I lived.
