Experience Description

I worked a regular work day then met and had dinner with my parents at a restaurant. I traveled the usual path home to my husband and child. That is my last memory prior to the crash. I do not remember the approaching crash intersection and have no memory of the crash at all; no sounds, no sirens, not even a glimpse of flashing police car light. I talked to the emergency and hospital personnel and family upon arrival. I even told the paramedics the emergency contact to call. I recited the phone number. I recall nothing. I felt no pain even though I was horrendously wounded.

My first recollection (after two surgeries and weeks) was being told that I had a terrible accident, and of my many injuries.

I know that I was 'somewhere else' and that, wherever I was, there was no pain and that, wherever I was it was, going to be, all right; even if I died and wasn't coming back. I did not feel that I needed to return or that I was going to miss out on something. I have a deep understanding that it wasn't my time and that I was 'shown mercy'. I was someone who didn't believe in God and where I was, was going to be ok, but that would have 'been it.' If I now believe in God and his teachings (through Jesus Christ) I will have better than 'ok'. I will have eternal life, my soul/energy will continue after this physical life.

I was a person who was a 'control freak', who took everything for granted and who saw the worst in everyone. Now, it's just the opposite.
