Experience Description

I lost consciousness and passed out from lack of oxygen. I woke up in white void. There were no ground or physical objects. I felt like I had been having philosophical conversations with an unseen man. He had a reassuring voice that made me feel no doubt or fear. It felt like I was there a very long time. I was interrupted by him and the only words I remember were him telling me “You need to wake up right now, it will be beautiful.” I asked him to repeat what he said and he did. At that point, I realized I was in an out of Body experience and needed to return so I did so with urgency. I instantly woke up and sat up straight to throw up. I asked my friends how long I was out and they said about a minute, but in my head I felt like it was a very long time.

How do you consider the content of your experience? Both pleasant AND distressing

Did you feel separated from your body? No I lost awareness of my body

How did your highest level of consciousness and alertness during the experience compare to your normal everyday consciousness and alertness? More consciousness and alertness than normal No distractions. I was solely focused on the experience.

At what time during the experience were you at your highest level of consciousness and alertness? When the voice of the man instructed me to wake up

Were your thoughts speeded up? Incredibly fast

Did time seem to speed up or slow down? Time seemed to go faster or slower than usual Time was slow

Were your senses More vivid than usual? More vivid than usual

Please compare your hearing during the experience to your everyday hearing that you had immediately prior to the time of the experience. Telepathy. I could hear fine but we did not speak words. It was all in the mind.

Did you see, or feel surrounded by, a brilliant light? No

Did you see an unearthly light? Yes Completely pure white environment with nothing physical in it

Did you seem to enter some other, unearthly world? A clearly mystical or unearthly realm. Pure white environment that seemed like open space

What emotions did you feel during the experience? Curiosity. Followed by anxiety because I needed to wake up.

Did you have a feeling of peace or pleasantness? Relief or calmness

Did you feel a sense of harmony or unity with the universe? No

Did you come to a border or point of no return? I came to a definite conscious decision to return to life. I was instructed to wake up and I felt it was important to do so

Did you seem to encounter a mystical being or presence, or hear an unidentifiable voice? I heard a voice. I could not identify. Only the calm voice of a man I have never heard or met before

During your experience, did you gain information about universal connection or oneness? Yes The man I was speaking to seemed to have wisdom

During your experience, did you gain information about the existence of God? Yes I spoke to a man who seemed intellectual. He was only a voice but unlike anything else and it felt like he knew me. I think he was a supreme being who gave me a reality check
