Experience Description

A little background first. I have 3 daughters and 10 grandchildren. I was married to my children's father for 30 years and they were the worst years of my life. I divorced and married my current husband, Herb. Herb is the love of my life. We have been married since 2010 and I never knew I could be so happy. My greatest fear is him dying before me and me being left on earth without him.

In the middle of sleep, I was awakened by a very bright, pin-prick of light. I was lying on my left side. This light was above my head but behind me a bit. I kept looking at the light. I remember arching my head backwards to see it more clearly and to lift myself up to it. Slowly, the light got progressively larger and larger. It was beautiful. It was all dark around me but I was not afraid or anything. I just wanted to get to the light. I left my room at this point although it remained all dark.

I call the light 'God' because I don't know what else to call it and because of the feelings I had towards it when I got closer to it. Nothing told me to stop coming forward, I just knew that was where I was supposed to stop. I telepathically said, 'I'm here!' in an amazed feeling of 'Wow!' The light source or God telepathically answered 'YES.' It was more of a once I asked the question, I knew the answer type of feeling. I know I was awake. There was clarity. This was not a dream. I think I was in my body but more in my head because I didn't my body. Then I said, 'I died.' This was more of a statement than a question. The response was 'Yes.' I then said something like, 'So I'm dead and I am still my personality. I am still me. I have my personality?' Again, I heard confirmation. At that point, I was OVERWHELMED with a full wash-over of love that I cannot describe. There is no word available that can convey it. I know so many stories of NDE where people say that but it is true. It's not a feeling, it just is!

Once I confirmed I was dead, I was euphoric. I was ready to get on with death and move to the next step. There was a light behind me and I turned to see across the USA. I knew God was instructing me to look. A beam of light rose up from Indiana, Arizona, and Pennsylvania, all from my daughters' homes. Again, no words but I know it was God saying to me and showing me that I can't die yet because 'Your daughters and grandchildren need you.' I responded, 'No, they will be fine.' God then showed me that my husband needed me. At that point, I begged God to let me stay. The love I felt there, outshines any sort of love here on earth. For me to beg to leave my husband is nuts and not like me at all. Then God conveyed that I must go back. It was then that I was back in my bed with my eyes wide open wondering what the heck just happened.
