Experience Description

My mom only speaks Spanish and is currently 79 and still mentally sharp. Last night, I went over the details with her again and she decided to share her experience.

This is the story my mom had always told me growing up. At the time, she was giving birth to me on Tuesday, October 1st. She was on the operating table because they needed to perform a C-section. She said she remembers passing out. Instantly, she was having an out-of-body experience and floated over everyone. She said she could see my dad and the nurses. She was watching some commotion going on. She later learned that she had flatlined for three minutes. My dad confirmed it by freaking out that his wife just died.

She then found herself on the property where she grew up in the Dominican Republic. Suddenly, a man on a large white horse came over, but he was on the other side of the small river that ran on one side of the farm. She was sitting down and recognized the man. He was an old friend of my grandfathers, who had passed away about 20 years earlier. She hadn't seen him since she was a little girl. She remembers going to his funeral when was about 6 or 7 years old. He said, 'It is not your time and you will go back to your family.' She was calm the entire time and although she didn't fully understand what was going on, she was okay with what he said.

Suddenly, she woke up, back on the operating table. She was giving birth to me.

Throughout my entire life, I've never been worried about dying because of her story. I feel like I've always known that we continue on, after leaving this shell. I've watched countless interviews and read stories of other NDE and my mom's story has always been similar to others; so I know we'll all be okay.

At what time during the experience were you at your highest level of consciousness and alertness? The entire time. From looking down and seeing the doctors and nurses to seeing my grandpa's old friend on his horse.

Were your thoughts speeded up? No

Did time seem to speed up or slow down? No

Were your senses More vivid than usual? No

Did your experience include features consistent with your earthly beliefs? Content that was entirely consistent with the beliefs you had at the time of your experience. My mom always believed in the spirit world, and it wasn't until this happened that she spent the rest of her life knowing there was something more after we pass.

Did you seem to encounter a mystical being or presence, or hear an unidentifiable voice? I encountered a definite being, or a voice clearly of mystical or unearthly origin

Did you see deceased or religious spirits? I actually saw them

Did you encounter or become aware of any beings who previously lived on earth who are described by name in religions (for example: Jesus, Muhammad, Buddha, etc.)? Yes It was an old neighbor, one of my grandpa's friends who had passed away about 20 years prior, who was close with our family.

During your experience, did you gain information about an afterlife? Yes The neighbor said that it wasn't her time yet. Indicating that there was something MORE, but it was the wrong time.

What life changes occurred in your life after your experience? Slight changes in my life

I remember the experience more accurately than other life events that occurred around the time of the experience. My mom can draw, to this day, everything she experienced, even after 51 years.

Have you ever shared this experience with others? Yes She told my dad this story the next day and all of her siblings, 14 in all. ALL know this same story. All very devout Christians.
