Experience Description

I was playing with fiends at summer camp the summer before I turned 7. I got dizzy because of the heat and got tunnel vision. The last thing I remember was joking with my brother and pretend fighting. I don't remember passing out, but I had an odd experience.

I found myself sitting on a porch swing with a little boy about my age. I didn't know who he was but he was talking to me and asking me simple questions like, 'How old are you?' The swing was gently rocking side to side and getting higher and higher up. During this time, I could see myself lying on the ground surrounded by campers. I was politely answering the boy's questions but getting nervous because we were getting higher and higher. There were thick, pinkish/white clouds that were making me feel so far away from the ground. At one point, I got nervous and told the boy I needed to get back because my mom would be worried.

I then woke up and saw one of the camp counselors screaming something at me, but I couldn't hear him. Suddenly, I could hear again and it was so loud. Everyone was shouting and the counselor was screaming, 'wake up!' He couldn't have been more than 16 years old now that I think about it.

My friend's mom who was working as a counselor came and swooped me up. I immediately felt my head injury and started crying. I wanted to go to sleep.

I don't share this with many people because it's so personal and I don't want to get eye rolls. But I'm listening to Theo Von's podcast and felt compelled to share my story. I don't know who the boy was, but I still think about this experience sometimes.
