Experience Description

I was 48 years old in 2012. When I finally went to the doctor, I was diagnosed with double pneumonia. The doctor immediately sent me to the hospital. Once I was admitted to the ICU, they put me into an induced coma so that my body would not require so much oxygen. I was barely breathing, and the doctors in the hospital told my wife they weren’t sure if I would make it or not. The next 48 hours Were critical.

During the coma, I found myself in a dark room with a red ceiling, floors, and walls. I could see big black spiders crawling on the red walls. I was completely at peace and was not afraid of the spiders. I continue to walk through the room and into a space of what seemed like dense weeds. But the area was still red, and the weeds were black. The weeds seemed taller than me and I was pushing them out of my way as I continue to walk.

Suddenly, I walked into space. It was like a dark, night sky that was filled with bright stars. The space was beautiful, and the stars were very bright. I could see very clearly. I didn’t seem to have a body to speak of, but I was completely aware of myself. Although, I was not aware of my life here on earth or anyone in it. It was so very peaceful and beautiful. As I floated through space, I marveled at the beauty of the lights and stars. In the distance, I could see what look like a huge galaxy of stars. It was round with a very bright center.

The galaxy looked like it was 1,000,000 miles away from me, but I could still see it very clearly. As soon as I thought to myself that I would like to see it closer, it was as if I was catapulted to it. I was floating over it and looking down on the galaxy. At this point, the galaxy seems to be much smaller than I was. I willed myself to float over the bright center of the galaxy; it was like looking down through a glass window. I could see a beautiful beach with thousands of people walking along the beach. There were beautiful trees and a beautiful ocean. At this point, I felt as if I was at treetop level. I could see the people very clearly and hear them talking. But, I could not understand what they were saying since I could not hear them clearly enough. They did not seem to be aware of my presence.

Suddenly, I woke up, back in the hospital. It seemed like I had been gone for just a few minutes, but I had actually been out for four days.
