Experience Description I was driven to the hospital, after my neurologist discovered that one side of my heart was not functioning correctly. I barely made it to the car. My wife was driving us to the hospital, as the doctor did not think we had enough time to call a paramedic. While lying in the car, I found myself standing in the most complete darkness I have ever experienced. As I looked down, I could see my body. I was standing at the edge of what I perceived to be a cliff of some kind. I felt like there was a deep void in front of me. I had a decision to make. I told myself, 'Not now,' as it was not my time to go yet. I woke up in the emergency room with a pacemaker attached to my leg. That's my experience. There was no floating, light, loving feelings, or God. There was just darkness. I was then life-flighted to Denver, where I spent 2 weeks in the hospital.
