Experience Description

I became increasingly tired over the course of 3 to 4 days and was struggling to breathe. I felt heaviness and huge pressure on my chest. I went to see the specialist and he thought I had bronchitis, since my symptoms were coughing but no pleghm and no fever. He gave me antibiotics and an injection. That night I woke up feeling very badly. I took a bath, thinking that lying in the hot tub would help me to feel better. I struggled to get to the bathroom because I could hardly move. I passed out in the bath tub and regained consciousness. I got out of the tub and struggled to dress myself. On the way back to my bed, I collapsed. My husband could not get any reaction out of me, so he phoned the ambulance. I came back to life and was taken to the hospital where I stayed for a week in the intensive care unit. After another few days in the general ward, I was diagnosed with massive bilateral pulmonary embolism and deep vein thrombosis in my right leg.

During the time I was unconscious, I saw my spirit rising up from my body. My spirit was the same form and shape as my body but it looked like smoke. I sensed that I was in another dimension and experienced peace that surpasses all earthly understanding. It is a peace that we don’t have or understand here on earth. We call it peace because it is the only word we have to describe that deep sense of 'peace' that I felt. I saw a soft, bright light shining deep from my spirit. It was like a white light that was shining onto me from above.

Another light was next to me on my right hand side. Somebody was standing there in the shape and form of a human being, but the person was a white light and from the same origin as the White Light I saw in my spirit. I felt as if a Life Force was drawing me to Him. I knew it was God. Then he was standing next to me. Immanuel God was with Me and I felt whole and complete in Him. It was a like a home-coming because I had been here before. I knew things without being told. For example, God was standing next to me with a crown made of lapis lazuli and pearls. I knew the crown was light although the pearls and lapis lazuli were heavy stones. He also had a white cloak for me in His hands. The white cloak was like a tunic. It was embroidered with many pearls of different sizes on the front part of the cloak. There was also another under-cloak for me in His other hand. The color of my cloak was a different mixture between purple and burgundy and was embroidered with very small gemstones. We don’t have that specific color on earth. I knew the cloak and the crown were weightless. I then realized He was there to take me with Him. But in the moment of death, He decided to send my spirit back into my body and I came alive.

I felt as if I were floating in a bubble of perfect peace for about a month after I came back to life. It was as if I was separated from my body what happened in the hospital. I was in perfect peace and never experienced any form of anxiety or fear or stress in that state.

How did your highest level of consciousness and alertness during the experience compare to your normal everyday consciousness and alertness? More consciousness and alertness than normal. I was aware of things and of myself without being told. I knew Who was standing next to me to meet me in life after death.

At what time during the experience were you at your highest level of consciousness and alertness? Yes

Were your thoughts speeded up? Incredibly fast

Did time seem to speed up or slow down? Everything seemed to be happening at once; or time stopped or lost all meaning

Were your senses More vivid than usual? Incredibly more vivid

Did you see any beings in your experience? I sensed their presence

Did you encounter or become aware of any deceased (or alive) beings? Yes Jesus (Immanuel God with us) was there with me standing next to me and I was drawn to HIm.

Did you see, or feel surrounded by, a brilliant light? A light clearly of mystical or other-worldly origin

Did you see an unearthly light? Yes A soft white, pure light like a light bulb in my spirit and the rays of a pure white light shining onto me from above and from the Source above me. It was shining and vibrating from the Spirit Being who was God as Immanuel with me and next to me.

Did you seem to enter some other, unearthly world? A clearly mystical or unearthly realm

What emotions did you feel during the experience? Peace. Wholeness and completeness

Did you have a feeling of peace or pleasantness? Incredible peace or pleasantness

Did you have a feeling of joy? Incredible joy

Did you feel a sense of harmony or unity with the universe? I felt no longer in conflict with nature

Did you suddenly seem to understand everything? Everything about myself or others

Did you come to a border or point of no return? I came to a barrier that I was not permitted to cross; or was sent back against my will. I sensed God in the form of Immanuel (Jesus) was standing there to meet me but decided to restore me to life.

Did your experience include features consistent with your earthly beliefs? Content that was both consistent and not consistent with the beliefs you had at the time of your experience. A bright light was moving up and down over me and I felt my DNA was reconstructed to wholeness and completeness in Him. It was a deeper level and restoration of my generational and genetic lineage to align my DNA with His DNA.

Did you have a change in your values and beliefs because of your experience? No

Did you seem to encounter a mystical being or presence, or hear an unidentifiable voice? I encountered a definite being, or a voice clearly of mystical or unearthly origin

Did you see deceased or religious spirits? I sensed their presence

What life changes occurred in your life after your experience? Large changes in my life. I have a deeper sense of God’s presence with me and I am not afraid to die. I don’t have high blood pressure anymore and I have a deeper sense of rootedness in God, knowing He is in control of the years He has added to my life.

Was the experience difficult to express in words? No

How accurately do you remember the experience in comparison to other life events that occurred around the time of the experience? I remember the experience as accurately as other life events that occurred around the time of the experience. I remember my experience clearly and as clear as the time in hospital.

Do you have any psychic, non-ordinary or other special gifts after your experience that you did not have before the experience? No

Are there one or several parts of your experience that are especially meaningful or significant to you? The felt knowledge and experience of feeling whole and complete in Him. Also meaningful to me was the sense of homecoming to a place where I once was and where I belong with the sense of abiding Presence with me.

Have you ever shared this experience with others? Yes I shared it immediately. Some cried. Others were overwhelmed, felt encouraged, and blessed. Others longed for a similar meeting with God. Many were glad that He restored me back to life.

Did you have any knowledge of near death experience (NDE) prior to your experience? Yes. My knowledge about NDE did not affect my experience in any way.

What did you believe about the reality of your experience shortly (days to weeks) after it happened? Experience was definitely real. I knew it happened to me and I felt present and alive in what happened to me. It was so real to me that I cannot think or believe it was not real. It was very special to me. It was a surprise to me but I also feel it is a precious experience.

What do you believe about the reality of your experience now? Experience was definitely real. I believe it was a meeting with God in the hour of my death and He extended my life. It is a new phase in my life.
