Experience Description

After five hours of tachycardia and atrial fibrillation, my emergency room doctor was concerned that I may have a stroke. A decision to perform a cardioversion was the suggested remedy. As soon as I was put under, the cardioversion was administered.

I immediately was standing at the entrance to a long, dark tunnel. I witnessed an incredibly bright light at the end of the tunnel. On either side of the bright light, vivid colors of red and yellow were displayed. I saw red on the right side and yellow on the left. Red and yellow are my favorite colors.

Then I woke up and cried out to the medical team around my bed, 'You should have seen the colors!' I know that light was and is Jesus. I know my two sisters were waiting for me behind Him, but it wasn't my time. I felt such peace and thank God for this beautiful experience.

Did you feel separated from your body? No. I lost awareness of my body

How did your highest level of consciousness and alertness during the experience compare to your normal everyday consciousness and alertness? More consciousness and alertness than normal The light was so so bright, but yet I was able to look directly at it.

At what time during the experience were you at your highest level of consciousness and alertness? The entire time. It was only a few seconds.

Were your thoughts speeded up? Faster than usual

Did time seem to speed up or slow down? Time seemed to go faster or slower than usual It seemed longer than it actually was.

Were your senses More vivid than usual? More vivid than usual

Please compare your vision during the experience to your everyday vision that you had immediately prior to the time of the experience. I would not be able to stand that bright light in every day life here on earth. In that tunnel, I looked right at it.

Please compare your hearing during the experience to your everyday hearing that you had immediately prior to the time of the experience. I heard an incredibly loud bang but it did not bother my ears at all.
