Experience Description

The experience was truly fantastic, but unfortunately very hard to describe. There was an overwhelming feeling of joy and peace. Time as we know it didn't seem to exist. I felt like I was taken on an emotional journey of the joy of my childhood.

At the time of your experience, was there an associated life-threatening event? Yes Illness 'Life threatening event, but not clinical death' I had fallen into a deep coma, due to severe illness. I had an unknown form of acute hepatitis, and urgently needed a liver transplant. I was unconscious for a week and doctors had estimated I had less than a day to live. I was put to the top of the transplant list in England. Luckily a liver became available, the transplant was performed and I made a full recovery.

How do you consider the content of your experience? Wonderful

Did you feel separated from your body? No I lost awareness of my body

How did your highest level of consciousness and alertness during the experience compare to your normal everyday consciousness and alertness? More consciousness and alertness than normal As above.

At what time during the experience were you at your highest level of consciousness and alertness? I was unconscious and in a coma throughout the entire experience, though I felt like I.

Were your thoughts speeded up? Incredibly fast

Did time seem to speed up or slow down? Everything seemed to be happening at once; or time stopped or lost all meaning

Were your senses more vivid than usual? Incredibly more vivid

Please compare your vision during the experience to your everyday vision that you had immediately prior to the time of the experience. It was almost like I could see emotions, vision in the traditional sense did not exist. It was as if another dimension existed and it was so far from what we experience day to day that I cannot describe it accurately.

Please compare your hearing during the experience to your everyday hearing that you had immediately prior to the time of the experience. Sound and sight didn't exist in the sense that we know them.

Did scenes from your past come back to you? My past flashed before me, out of my control I have not feared death since the experience. I feel like the experience made me a more laid back person.

Was the experience difficult to express in words? Yes The experience was so overwhelming that words cannot accurately portray it. There is nothing comparable to the experience in day to day life.

Do you have any psychic, non-ordinary or other special gifts after your experience that you did not have before the experience? No

Have you ever shared this experience with others? Yes I shared the experience as soon as I woke from my coma. People are not very interested because they probably assume it was just like a dream.

Did you have any knowledge of near death experience (NDE) prior to your experience? Yes I was aware that they occurred.

What did you believe about the reality of your experience shortly (days to weeks) after it happened? Experience was definitely real I viewed it to be definitely real because it happened. I don't understand this question.

At any time in your life, has anything ever reproduced any part of the experience? No Nothing comes close.

Are there any other questions that we could ask to help you communicate your experience? I do not understand the questions concerning the reality of the experience. By definition an NDE is an experience and therefore it is real.
