EXPERIENCE DESCRIPTION:
I had been in
and out of the hospital for numerous surgeries between the years of 1999 and
2003. I was going thru my third knee replacement at the time, the knee was full
of mercer a staff infection that kept reoccurring with each replacement. The
knee replacement had been removed and because of the infection, I had to be put
on a very strong anti-biotic that could only be given intravenously. It was
vancomycin. I had taken this medicine and had gone thru this scenario on two
other occasions. I was given a port, central line that would deliver the
medicine. X-rays had been taken while this process was being conducted. The
central line was in place. But all afternoon and evening I was finding it hard
to breath. I had asked the nurses to phone my doctor, but their answer was that
I needed to breath into the breathing tube so that my lungs would get stronger.
I kept finding it harder and harder to breath. All thru the night and up to the
next morning, this pressure on my chest and the difficulty breathing did not go
away. So x-rays were ordered and upon reading the extras, I was told that my
lung was full of fluids, my central line had been dislodged. My doctor came in
to tap my lungs and all appeared well. There was another pulmonary doctor on
the floor, he wasn't my doctor, but a very religious doctor. He came in to give
my doctor a hand with tapping the lung. The fluid was coming out as it was
suppose to be, and now they were ready to pull the central line. I only
remember looking at my grand-daughter at the foot of my bed. I was raising her
and her two sisters. When Dr. F pulled the line, blood started spurting out
and that is when he called Code Blue. I remember seeing the Light and how warm
and beautiful it was. I wasn't sure if it were coming to me or I was going to
it. But the warm wonderful feeling I had, I knew everything was alright.
I loved the feeling. When I did come back this doctor that was not my doctor,
was there holding my hand. They were sending my to ICU. This doctor was sent
to be with me. I know that the divine intervention was there. He took my
family to the side and told them, that he had seen Jesus at the foot of my bed
and Jesus said "it is not her time" that's when your grandmother squeezed my
hand. All the nurses in the hospital said how spiritual this guardian angel
doctor was and how if anyone seen Jesus it would be him. I know I was going to
the other side.
Was the
kind of experience difficult to express in words?
Uncertain It was too beautiful to actually put into words. It was beyond
speech

time of this experience, was there an associated life threatening event?
Yes Yes, my lungs had filled with fluids, then collapsed.

alertness?
I'm not sure what you mean, but I was alert when I heard the doctors say " stay
with us Sara, just stay with us"

to your normal every day consciousness and alertness?
More consciousness and alertness than normal

Yes It was known by family that I had coded. It was the words of the doctor
telling them that I had had an experience that I would be sharing. He explained
to them not as a doctor but as a believer
Did you
have any knowledge of near death experience (NDE) prior to your experience?
Uncertain Not really, but I had always said that if this ever

old. I didn't see anyone or faces that I recognized, but did feel a spiritual
presence
How did
you view the reality of your experience shortly (days to weeks) after it
happened:
Experience was definitely real I didn't need confirmation by anyone else that
this happened to me. I didn't know about this site until I decided to do a
paper for school on NDE. I am in awe of some of these experiences are so much
in line with mine.
Were
there one or several parts of the experience especially meaningful or
significant to you?
I am not afraid
to die. I believe that only GOD knows when our days will end. I believe that
regardless of an accident, illness, self termination, the days are pre set by
GOD. I know that the body is only a container for the soul.
How do
you currently view the reality of your experience:
Experience was definitely real It IS REAL. My soul was at peace. It was the
MOST Beautiful experience a person can have. I shared this experience with my
Mother a year or so before she left to go to heaven. I told her that it was an
experience beyond words. She was 93 when she went to meet God.

substances which reproduced any part of the experience?
No
Is
there anything else you would like to add concerning the experience?
It is an
experience that now let's me view death and dying as something wonderful. It is
just the next step in the process of life. There is no death, but only a change
in the containers that hold our soul.
Did the
questions asked and information you provided so far accurately and
comprehensively describe your experience?
Yes
