Experience description: 

I was asleep, under anaesthesia, then I am projected in a bright tunnel at a dizzy speed, some colors, some flashes of light.

Then, a slowdown, I am out of the tunnel. I am floating in the air and I’m going forward, I hear a divine music and a voice which talks to me as if within myself,  a soft and reassuring voice which tells me not to be afraid, that I do not risk anything, which reassures me. At the same time, I am bathed in a divine music, I do not feel anything, neither my heart beating, nor my body or my body’s gravity. I am looking at my body, I don’t have a body anymore.

I get closer to a light which is more and more intense, nevertheless I don’t have any pain in the eyes. I can distinguish three white silhouettes in the light, from the shoulders to the head. Being at just two or three meters far from them, I don’t go forward anymore, those three beings are fascinating, a kindness emanates from them, I have no fear. Their large and black eyes, all black and globulous, almond-shaped eyes express compassion. The voice goes on, it tells me that it is not my turn and that I will start off again. Then a great white light, I open the eyes, the doctors succeeded to resuscitate me. My father tells me "you made us frightened".

Later on, I told my mother that I saw 3 angels.

      Explanation:  Anaesthesia in 1965!!

Was the experience difficult to express in words?  Yes

      What was it about the experience that makes it hard to communicate?  The fear of not being understood.

What was your level of consciousness and alertness during the experience? General anaesthetic

Was the experience dream like in any way?  No, a reality really lived through

Did you experience a separation of consciousness from your body?  Yes

Describe your appearance or form apart from your body:  Without appearance, bathed in whiteness

What emotions did you feel during the experience?  une grande joie, une délivrance

Did you hear any unusual sounds or noises?  a divine music

Did you pass into or through a tunnel or enclosure?  Yes, A tunnel, like a whirl with a dizzy speed, some lights, some colors. 

Did you see a light?  Yes 

Did you meet or see any other beings?  Yes,      Three beings bathed in whiteness, with globulous black eyes which were also loving and sympathetic, a white head with oval shape. They spoke to me within myself, like my small interior voice. 

Did you experience a review of past events in your life?  No 

Did you observe or hear anything regarding people or events during your experience that could be verified later?  No 

Did you see or visit any beautiful or otherwise distinctive locations, levels or dimensions?  No

Did you have any sense of altered space or time?  Yes

I thought that lasted ages, but my father told me that lasted only some few seconds.

Did you reach a boundary or limiting physical structure?  Yes, I could not follow the beings of light any more. 

Did you become aware of future events?  No 

Were you involved in or aware of a decision to return to the body?  No 

Did you have any psychic, paranormal or other special gifts following the experience you did not have prior to the experience?  Yes, I feel what people think, over-sensitiveness and I feel very bad during or before a dramatic event relating to me (ex death)

Did you have any changes of attitudes or beliefs following the experience?  I was 7 yers old.

Has the experience affected your relationships?  Daily life?  Religious practices etc.?  Career choices?  Personal and material success became secondary, I became more involved in associations and went deeper in Buddhist philosophy.  

Have you shared this experience with others?  Yes

My mother didn’t say anthing to me but I know she believed me

What emotions did you experience following your experience? 

The happiness to find my family again, but I didn’t analyze too much at this time, the joy.

What was the best and worst part of your experience? 

The best side: the assurance that something else exists after death; the worst side, a difficult experiment to assimilate and share, why me?

Following the experience, have you had any other events in your life, medications or substances which reproduced any part of the experience?  No
