Experience description: 

I was in a dimly lit room. across from me was a shaft of light from the ceiling going down at an angle to the right and through the floor. on my left was my deceased seven year old grandson and my deceased 18 month old granddaughter to my right passing by me with the Lord Jesus. A voice in my head said the light was the light of truth and love going from heaven to earth. Then in my head I heard my grandchildren say you must go back and take care of our sister. I walked toward them and looked down and saw a bed by it was my living granddaughter and my wife. next thing I knew I was opening my eyes and saw my granddaughter my first words were to her I came back for you.

Was the kind of experience difficult to express in words? No

At the time of this experience, was there an associated life threatening event?          Yes     My motorcycle had hit a car and another car ran over me

At what time during the experience were you at your highest level of consciousness and alertness?    Same level throughout the experience

How did your highest level of consciousness and alertness during the experience compare to your normal every day consciousness and alertness?    Normal consciousness and alertness

Did your vision differ in any way from your normal, everyday vision (in any aspect, such as clarity, field of vision, colors, brightness, depth perception degree of solidness/transparency of objects, etc.)?  No

Did your hearing differ in any way from your normal, everyday hearing (in any aspect, such as clarity, ability to recognize source of sound, pitch, loudness, etc.)?            No

Did you experience a separation of your consciousness from your body?     Yes

What emotions did you feel during the experience?            My only emotion was curiosity

Did you pass into or through a tunnel or enclosure?          No

Did you see a light?           Yes     I saw a shaft of light across from me going at an angle from the ceiling through the floor

Did you meet or see any other beings?           Yes     my two deceased grandchildren and the lord Jesus. Lord said the light with the light of truth and love sent from heaven to earth. the grandchildren told me i must go back and take care of their sister.

Did you experience a review of past events in your life?    No

Did you observe or hear anything regarding people or events during your experience that could be verified later?          Yes     I saw my granddaughter and wife by the bed from above and they verified it was them in the room when i woke up. At the time my granddaughter was ok and living with her parents but later they broke up and she came to live with us, which explained the take care of our sister statement

Did you have a sense of knowing special knowledge, universal order and/or purpose?     Yes            that the light was the light of truth and love going from heaven to earth. and that I must take care of my granddaughter

Have you shared this experience with others?         Yes     Immediately most were moved by the experience.

Did you have any knowledge of near death experience (NDE) prior to your experience?    Yes     I had read some articles about it. I don't believe it affected me.

How did you view the reality of your experience shortly (days to weeks) after it happened:            Experience was definitely real    The experience has not diminished in impact to this day 15 months later.

Were there one or several parts of the experience especially meaningful or significant to you?            When I saw the bed and realized it was probable me in it from above I realized something had happened to me, them instantly i was back in my body.

How do you currently view the reality of your experience:            Experience was definitely real    I view it as an experience of the other side where my probable death was stopped and I was sent back to continue my life. I had many disabilities at the time and should not have survived. I believe i was needed here by my granddaughter and was shown what I saw to help me understand why I was being sent back.

Have your relationships changed specifically as a result of your experience?           Yes     I am much more loving and caring in my relationships. less cynical and have lost any fear of death

Have your religious beliefs/practices changed specifically as a result of your experience?            Yes            I attend church now on a regular basis and read the bible regularly which I did not do before

Following the experience, have you had any other events in your life, medications or substances which reproduced any part of the experience?         No

Did the questions asked and information you provided so far accurately and comprehensively describe your experience?         Yes
