Experience description: 

      I suddenly was aware I WAS A spirit looking down at my body. The relatives in the room were arguing over who could comb my hair. My mother sat quietly in a chair. My grandfather was talking to someone who appeared to be God but it was actually only light. I could not see God but I could hear his voice.  My grandfather was asking God to let me stay with him. I was a good person. My grandfather's pet boxer was with him on a lease.  I could feel the love between the dog and my grandfather. God reviewed my life. I felt some fear as I felt I was being judged and was not good enough for God.  God told me I did something good that pleased him and seemed to try to ease my fears. It was something of helping a boy child in some way. God appeared only as a light and a authoritative voice. I could not see him.   Afterwards he asked me if I wanted to stay or go back.  I thought for a second and was given a vision of the future whereas my mother would get cancer.  I felt in my heart she would need me as I told God nobody would be there to help her.  At that point I returned to my body.

My mother did get breast and cancer of the uterus later on and I was her main support. That was probably 15 years ago.

At the time of the experience, was there an associated life threatening event?  Yes

      Describe:  in comma due to o.d. on life support.  family told to prepare for my death. Given last rites.

What was your level of consciousness and alertness during the experience?  unconscious

Was the experience dream like in any way?  No.

Did you experience a separation of consciousness from your body?  Yes

What emotions did you feel during the experience?  fear - awe - surprise

Did you hear any unusual sounds or noises?  no, Grandfather and God were talking though.

Did you pass into or through a tunnel or enclosure?  No

Did you see a light?  Yes

Did you meet or see any other beings?  Yes

      Describe:  Yes . Grandfather, his dog, and the light of God.,

Did you experience a review of past events in your life?  Yes

      Describe:  Yes. I did not know such an experience could happen.  Yes, it assured me there is an after life, we will be judged, and God does love us, but we must try to do our best to live the life that is pleasing in his eyes. Yes, the most important part of earthly life is your relationship with God, and his people

Did you observe or hear anything regarding people or events during your experience that could be verified later?  Yes

      Describe:  I asked people if what I seen was real when I was looking down at them.  My mother verified it and was amazed that I could see it. 

Did you see or visit any beautiful or otherwise distinctive locations, levels or dimensions?  Yes

      Describe:  definitely there is a spiritual level that brings us to the dimension I REACHED, AND SURELY THERE ARE OTHER LEVELS.

Did you have any sense of altered space or time?  Uncertain

Did you have a sense of knowing special knowledge, universal order and/or purpose?  No response

Did you reach a boundary or limiting physical structure?  No

Did you become aware of future events?  Yes

      Describe:  VERY ACCURATE. I VISIONED MY MOTHER GETTING CANCER. SHE DID GET IT AND I WAS HER SOLE SUPPORT AS I FELT I WOULD BE.

Were you involved in or aware of a decision to return to the body?  Yes

Did you have any psychic, paranormal or other special gifts following the experience you did not have prior to the experience?  No

      Describe:  I, AS A CHILD HAVE A ABILITY TO FORESEE OCCURRENCES OF MY LIFE IN THE FUTURE WHICH ALWAYS HAPPEN AS I SEE IT.  THEY USUALLY ARE BAD EXPERIENCES WHICH I CANNOT SEEM TO CHANGE.

Did you have any changes of attitudes or beliefs following the experience?  Yes

      Describe:  It proved the afterlife is very real and we should be prepared.

Has the experience affected your relationships?  Daily life?  Religious practices etc.?  Career choices?  IT hasn't affected me except to want a closer relationship with God because it is the most important part of our temporary life on earth

Have you shared this experience with others?  Yes

      Describe:  Yes, as a faith sharing experience.  It reassures people of the afterlife, and judgment and love.

What emotions did you experience following your experience?  elation - joy knowing God talked to me and sent me back to do work for him.

What was the best and worst part of your experience?  fear of being judged and not knowing if God would accept me.  God talking to me and reassuring me everything will be o.k. God sharing the future with me and sending me back, as if it were my decision, but the one God knew I would choose.

Is there anything else you would like to add concerning the experience?  It only reminds me, God is so powerful and so real

Has your life changed specifically as a result of your experience?  Yes

      Describe:  Yes, sometimes In prayer groups or special masses I get scents of roses when our Mother, Mary is present. It is sometimes also confirmed by another person who smells the roses also.  It is as though Our Mother wants us to know she loves us and is with us in spirit to guide us and protect us.

Following the experience, have you had any other events in your life, medications or substances which reproduced any part of the experience?  No
