Experience description:
During this time, really probably only a matter of seconds I left my body. I do not remember a tunnel or light, (I wish I could be hypnotized now to see if I did experience something like this), but I did experience a "life review". I was in a room and there was like a giant wheel, or TV screen and it showed every second of my life, the good and the bad things. I don't remember much of anything else. Then my friend touched me, and when she did it broke the electric shock. My arm was numb and sore for a few days.
This was the entire experience. The unusual thing about this was I didn't know what had happened to me and had not even heard of this until college. I've been reading on and off about near-death experiences ever since.
Was the kind of experience difficult to express in words? Yes, I
was young, and did not understand what had happened to me until many ears later, college age. I read about near-death experiences. For years after that I did not know I had a life review, until I read about someone else's, then it was like, "Wow, yes, that's what happened to me!" It was exciting.
At the time of this experience, was there an associated life threatening event? Uncertain It was an electric shock, so I do not know how powerful it was.
At what time during the experience were you at your highest level of consciousness and alertness? I really don't remember.
How did your highest level of consciousness and alertness during the experience compare to your normal every day consciousness and alertness? Normal consciousness and alertness
If your highest level of consciousness and alertness during the experience was different from your normal every day consciousness and alertness, please explain: It was almost like vivid dreaming.
Did your vision differ in any way from your normal, everyday vision (in any aspect, such as clarity, field of vision, colors, brightness, depth perception degree of solidness/transparency of objects, etc.)? Uncertain I don't remember.
Did your hearing differ in any way from your normal, everyday hearing (in any aspect, such as clarity, ability to recognize source of sound, pitch, loudness, etc.)? No
Did you experience a separation of your
consciousness from your body? Uncertain
What emotions did you feel during the experience? I don't remember pleasurable ones, if anything I remember being upset seeing the negatives of my life.
Did you meet or see any other beings? Uncertain I'm not sure, seems as if there was somebody in the big room with me.
Did you experience a review of past events in your life? Yes Details above, I was too young.
Did you see or visit any beautiful or otherwise distinctive locations, levels or dimensions? No
Did you have any sense of altered space or time? Yes
Well, I was in the other place apparently only seconds, yet my whole 10 years, EVERY EVENT I saw clearly in detail. Time was just different.
Did you have any psychic, paranormal or other special
gifts following the experience you did not have prior to the experience? No
Have you shared this experience with others? Yes Not at the time. Lately, I've only told about 5 people. They listen like they want to believe me, I'm not sure they do.
Were there one or several parts of the experience especially meaningful or significant to you? I've answered this, only that I was bothered by the negative things I saw.
How did you view the reality of your experience shortly (days to weeks) after it happened: Experience was definitely real
I don't remember how I felt right afterwards because I didn't know what it was. I thought it was a dream.
How do you currently view the reality of your experience: Experience was definitely real
It's been too long, but I do still remember it happening. It was real.
Following the experience, have you had any other
events in your life, medications or substances which reproduced any part of the experience? No
Did the questions asked and information you provided so far accurately and comprehensively describe your experience? Yes
Please offer any suggestions you may have to improve this questionnaire: Much too long.
