Bob H's NDE

Experience description: 

My uncle jumped into the pool as I was coming up from the bottom to the surface.

Just as I was about to surface the force of him jumping beside me pulled me down under. I ran out of air and took a big breath of water.  For about a half minute or as long as it took people to realize I was drowning and take me from the pool. I remember like it was yesterday I was above the pool about five -six feet up. I remember saying to my self I am all right out load to my self. I felt amazing, a feeling of total joy no pain. I was looking down and could see people around some body on the sidewalk beside the pool. I did not know who any one was. I was me looking down but was not Bob, I did not even know Bob but I was still me as I was before I drowned. I do not know how to explain this any other way. I believe that our bodies die but we do live on . I could see and hear every thing how is that possible. The hole thing lasted about  6 or 7 minutes . Just before I came back into my body there was a lot of pain but some how I knew that it was just the pain of life. I never told any one about this until my father was diagnosed with lung cancer, I don't think he really believed me its one of those things you have to experienced to believe. I don't know what to make of it.

At the time of this experience, was there an associated life threatening event?          Yes     I was drowning. Passed out.

What was your level of consciousness and alertness during the experience?           Unconscious

            Was the experience dream like in any way?   No not at all. The girl that gave me mouth to mouth was Nancy and I know that with out being told.

Did you experience a separation of your consciousness from your body?     Yes    

What emotions did you feel during the experience?            It was a really good feeling

Did you hear any unusual sounds or noises?           Just the people freaking out

 Did you observe or hear anything regarding people or events during your experience that could be verified later?     Yes     The girl who gave me mouth to mouth .

Did you notice how your 5 senses were working, and if so, how were they different?          I could see and hear.

Did you have any changes of attitudes or beliefs following the experience?   Yes    

How has the experience affected your relationships? Daily life? Religious practices? Career choices?       Not at all my wife thinks I made it up.  And jokes about it from time to time.

Has your life changed specifically as a result of your experience?         Yes     In the since that I do believe there is something after death.

Have you shared this experience with others?         Only my father and my wife. I use to think that people were nuts when they said things that were out there.

What emotions did you experience following your experience?    I was nine. I sat out for about an hour before going back in the pool. It was there but I just didn't say anything to anyone about it.

What was the best and worst part of your experience?      Coming back into my body it really hurt.
