Rachel's NDE

Experience description: 

      I was working the (3-11) shift @ the hospital passing Rx to the patients on the ward, my usual duties as a Charge Nurse.  I was in excruciating pain abdominally.  I knew something dreadful was wrong with my body 4 the pain had come & gone over a period of 6 months off & on.  This evening it was almost unbearable.  Nurses they say r the worst patients & I like everyone else had obligations to fulfill in my life & kept putting things off.  Plus, I was self doctoring myself off & on With over the counter drugs.  (I had been diagnosed a few years back with colitis.  This I could sense was different.  I had scheduled a doctors appt. 4 that week, which I could not keep, since I ended up in the ER room of the hospital the next morning, bent over in pain.  I could not go any further.  They attempted test @ first which did not revealed what they hoped 4, henceforth Exploratory emergency surgery was required stat.  Upon my prep & arrival to the or room it flashed to me before I went under Oh, my God I'm going to die.  (I am a Nurse, I have worked in or) The thought was alien to my training.  Well, I never went out!  I mean my body succumbed to the anesthetic, but I was quite aware still, very disinterested in what they were doing down there on me (my body) & started ascending.  It seemed to be the most natural thing to ascend.  I was in a tunnel & it seemed things were soaring by me.  Through telepathy or???(I don't really know how, somehow I knew their were 2 male entities along side of me as I sped in this tunnel.  They were Angelic Beings I knew that & they were like escorting me up.  (At least it seemed up?)  I don't know.  Then all of a sudden I saw my paternal Grandmother (Just radiant & glowing with light coming to me with elation on her face & her hand outstretched toward me.  She was smiling.  She was like in a mist or cloud??? Her hand was trying to reach mine 4 an embrace.  I could somehow sense their were other people with her like a welcome wagon party or something & I had extended my hand to grab hers.  I somehow was so surprised & said Grandma what r u doing here? (Shed been dead many years.)  Someone, one of the angel beings said NO Rachel.  I knew telepathically somehow if I touched her hand I could not go back.  Its like I was stopped suddenly like an invisible wall was put up.  I said why not??? They stated NO, emphatically & very sternly, but with love, No u must go back.  I said Why??? I wanted to go to that beautiful place, but I was suspended.  Then I heard my little 3years old grand daughters voice saying "Don't go by by Memo, Memo don't go".  She was alive here in my daughters house which was confirmed to me later by my daughter, without mention by me that Sammy was very psychic & had been playing in her little bedroom with her toys @ the time I was leaving & was talking out loud to herself what I just described, when my daughter heard her.  I swooshed back into my body & woke up in the ICU unit with tubes in every orifice.  It was related to me later that the surgeons came out & told my siblings all they could do was pray.  #1 It was graver than they thought & I was very weakened.  The outlook was not good.  They had removed a tumor the size of a grapefruit, it was cancerous & they had removed a lot of my intestines, etc. & given me a colostomy. They gave me 3 months to live, I was told later by my family.  Well, I am tired of writing now, but I also left my body 3 to 4 times after that & was met by angelic beings who informed me I did not have cancer & allowed me to peer inside my own body @ my cells, & there is more.  I came home, obviously & still was not totally grounded or totally in my body.  It seemed I was very loose from the physical shell.  I learned a lot & can still in meditation ascend.  I love it.  In 1992 my youngest son was killed in a car accident on his way home from college, I have seen him also in these latter years.  If I can assist u I am willing.  I know the empirical sciences attempt to attribute these accounts to neurotransmitters of the organic brain, etc., I've often wondered about that being a science student, but I know they r wrong( For there is certainly a different dimension we here call heaven,  I've been there.  If I can assist u in any way please let me know.  T.Y.       Explanation:  anesthetic which should put patient into a sleep-like void.  However I left the or room & was quite alert.

      What was it about the experience that makes it hard to communicate?  A lot of info pouring into the senses @ once.

      Describe:  Emergency surgery without hopeful diagnosis

What was your level of consciousness and alertness during the experience?  Very aware

Was the experience dream like in any way?  Sorta, but no

Did you experience a separation of consciousness from your body?  Yes

Describe your appearance or form apart from your body:  I looked sorta like me, but light

What emotions did you feel during the experience?  I felt like it was normal I had nowhere else to go but where I was going, yet it was very different.

Did you hear any unusual sounds or noises?  A humming or buzzing like???in my head

Did you pass into or through a tunnel or enclosure?  Yes
      Describe:  There seemed to be some kind of walls or??? I don't know how to describe it a funnel like sense, but made of?????like the universe stuff???like a portal or wormhole.

Did you see a light?  Yes
      Describe:  I was ascending with 2 angels & as we neared my dead Grandmother the light was glowing more & more

Did you meet or see any other beings?  Yes
      Describe:  Yes, I told u.  Somehow I also seemed to know these 2 angelic beings too, not just my relative.  (See above)

      Describe:  Saw my son & Jesus clear as a bell on the other plane

      Describe:  There is definitely a LIVING GOD no matter what anyone calls God

What emotions did you experience following your experience?  Encompassing awe & Love 4 a lot of ordinary things (A tree or glass of milk. etc)

What was the best and worst part of your experience?  Coming & going between realms.  I also felt an abundance of love & compassion 4 my fellowman, that was accented.  I also feel @ times very melancholy about being here in this heavy machine called a body.

Is there anything else you would like to add concerning the experience?  I had other encounters with spiritual beings before I got well.  I was told by the oncologists that I needed chemo & what they were going to do, & told by the being of light what was going to happen 4 my own life pattern.

Dear Dr Jeff, Yes u may indeed post my NDE as I have stated, this can be with e-mail address & my name if u like. My name is Rachel. I feel this is very impt research due to the profound effect upon the participate of an NDE.

Leaves the person feeling perplexed & in the same category as an abductee of ufo phenomena. Not to many who r interested or believe & yet remain polite @ least to pacify. Our society especially shuns the death experience even when it is finalized. Being a nurse I find this very sad as death is the last great adventure we endure on this planet & most (including professionals) feel very awkward to share with the terminal victim or patient. This can be very disheartening to the patient. More research is needed its beyond anoxia of the brain cells causing hallucinations like a computer shutting down. We r more than our physical body & of course people of all cultures from ancient times have spoken of their NDES. Scientifically it seems to be the Omega point in quantum physics which indeed blends with the source. TY Rachel
