Experience description:
Woke in bed
with massive pain, more than I ever dreamed possible...Felt like something
pulled me out of bed...Saw and felt a mist and a blackness in a ring around
me...Like a hyperspace on the periphery.

was on Demerol, Percocet immediately after surgery but was taken off 2 days
later .

It was as much as can be had with hat level of sheer pain.

No, much worse.

Release...catharsis...some bit of psychedelic perhaps...

low frequency rumbling perhaps.

Yes.. felt like I was in a moist landscape...
kind of like 'Dagobah' the planet that 'Yoda' lives in in that Star Wars movie.

yes, I felt time stretching, dissolving.. .moving in a different .direction

have a sense of knowing special knowledge, universal order and/or purpose?
Yes

Yes I felt that I had gotten some heightened awareness... I can foreshadow
events now...
they aren't always clear... but I get these hunches and concepts that I
invariably experience later.

The boundary was more emotional perhaps... like I could feel its presence.

I am more empathic with people...
less prejudiced...
I am not materialistic anymore... 'yuppies' make feel sorry for them because
they are so off track...
I tend to agree with Buddhist/Tao/Zen concepts...

shock, weird-out, horror....
some stopped talking to me... called me a freak....

emotions did you experience following your experience?
grief...utter depression....
What
was the best and worst part of your experience?
best- getting the "wake up call"
worst- the pain...the NG tube in my nose...losing the muscle mass from laying
on the hospital bed for 2 weeks while antibiotics pumped into me...I had severe
convulsions at 1 point as a result of toxins in my body...that was
HELLACIOUS...whew...
Is there
anything else you would like to add concerning the experience?
That song by 'Jewel' "Only Kindness Matters" is really hitting the lesson I
learned on the nail-head...
That thought.. of only being 'cool to all people' is the lesson that seems to
have be3en programmed in my head...

your life changed specifically as a result of your experience?
Yes

I on a much less goods-oriented path... I don't feel that I have to go out and
become wealthy like I used to...
I'm more likely to do "random acts of kindness".
