EXPERIENCE DESCRIPTION:
Was the kind of experience difficult to express in words? Yes It's difficult to describe the sensation of not having a body, only consciousness.
At the time of this experience, was there an associated life threatening event? No
At what time during the experience were you at your highest level of consciousness and alertness? It was very sudden and without warning. I felt incredible peace as well as an incredible sense of well-being.
How did your highest level of consciousness and alertness during the experience compare to your normal every day consciousness and alertness? Less consciousness and alertness than normal
If your highest level of consciousness and alertness during the experience was different from your normal every day consciousness and alertness, please explain: To be alert means to be afraid of something but there was nothing of this. Only a sense of absolute freedom and well-being.
Did your vision differ in any way from your normal, everyday vision (in any aspect, such as clarity, field of vision, colors, brightness, depth perception degree of solidness/transparency of objects, etc.)? Yes, the movement of the water...it was entirely within my scope of vision.
Did your hearing differ in any way from your normal, everyday hearing (in any aspect, such as clarity, ability to recognize source of sound, pitch, loudness, etc.)? No
Did you experience a separation of your consciousness from your body? Yes

Have you shared this experience with others? Yes I think about 10 years ago. I only wanted to know what fainting was and I asked some doctors but really got no answer.
Did you have any knowledge of near death experience (NDE) prior to your experience? No
How did you view the reality of your experience shortly (days to weeks) after it happened: Experience was definitely real For me it was like a treasure that only I knew about and if I told anyone it would destroy the enchantment or something.
How do you currently view the reality of your experience: Experience was probably not real The memory is now very hazy and the fear of death makes me afraid even though for years I said I wasn't afraid of death because of this experience.
Have your relationships changed specifically as a result of your experience? No
Have your religious beliefs/practices changed specifically as a result of your experience? No
Following the experience, have you had any other events in your life, medications or substances which reproduced any part of the experience? No
Is there anything else you would like to add concerning the experience? I would like to know if anyone else has experienced this because I didn't see a tunnel or a light or anything else. And the part about Manhattan makes people laugh at me...it's funny.
Did the questions asked and information you provided so far accurately and comprehensively describe your experience? Yes My experience was so limited that I have told all there is to tell.
Are there any other questions we could ask to help you communicate your experience? You have done a good job, I believe. Thank you.
