EXPERIENCE DESCRIPTION:
My daughter was born by natural childbirth in the hospital operating room.
About fifteen to thirty minutes after the delivery, I told the nurse that I
wasn't feeling well. I felt like I was going to pass out. That is all that I can
remember of being my normal self before things started happening. I never lost
my hearing. I could hear every word the nurses said. I heard them say that my
blood pressure was going down to eighty over sixty, and that they were not able
to start an IV because my veins were collapsed. I heard the doctors screaming
about losing a patient. In my mind I was going down a dark tunnel. I saw
many pictures of myself from my childhood to that present moment in the
operating room. Then I was "above" my body, looking down on myself. I also saw
several nurses and two doctors from above. After that, I was "back."
At the time of your experience was there an associated life-threatening event?
Yes. It happen just fifteen to thirty minutes after delivering my
daughter.

Yes. I was afraid that nobody would believe me.
At what time during the experience were you at your highest level of
consciousness and alertness?

I remember the experience more accurately than other life events that occurred
around the time of the experience. This experiences has always been with me
since it happened in 1989. I think about it all the time. I did not have
any more children or any medical procedures. I'm scared that the "experience"
will happen again, and not sure how I would handle it or if it would be too hard
for me to go through again.

dreams about the present or the future, concerning things that are about to
happen.
My experience directly resulted in:
Slight changes in my life.
Did you have any changes in your values or beliefs after the experience that

Yes. Six years after my "experience," I accepted Christ and started

or significant to you?
No

Yes. I first shared it probably more than ten years after it happened when
one of my friends said something about an "NDE." Also, I read an article
about them. I did share my experience several times with other people, but
usually no one would say anything back to me after I told them, so I'm not sure
if they even believed me and also I don't know what they believed about NDEs,
