Gilbert H's Probable NDE |
EXPERIENCE DESCRIPTION:
At a given moment, my thoughts started wandering off and a bright white light
arose around me, until I found myself in a kind of white room with a peaceful
and serene atmosphere. Everything dear to me, family, partner, dog, seemed to
have lost their importance (only I was important). After this phase I was asked
whether I wanted to live on. After an outspoken "yes" (cause I felt I was too
young with still a lot of potential), I gradually woke up.
Was the kind of experience difficult
to express in words? Yes
Describing what happened is not difficult; but to convey the emotions in the
experience is difficult.
At the time of this experience, was
there an associated life threatening event?
Yes Cerebro Vascular Accident, aneurysm
At what time during the experience
were you at your highest level of consciousness and alertness?
If I would divide the experience in 3 phases it would be the second one
How did your highest level of
consciousness and alertness during the experience compare to your normal every
day consciousness and alertness? More
consciousness and alertness than normal
If your highest level of consciousness
and alertness during the experience was different from your normal every day
consciousness and alertness, please explain:
If I would divide the experience in 3 phases it would be the second one
Did your vision differ in any way from
your normal, everyday vision (in any aspect, such as clarity, field of vision,
colors, brightness, depth perception degree of solidness/transparency of
objects, etc.)?
Uncertain, I was in the light
Did your hearing differ in any way
from your normal, everyday hearing (in any aspect, such as clarity, ability to
recognize source of sound, pitch, loudness, etc.)?
No
Did you experience a separation of
your consciousness from your body?
Uncertain
What emotions did you feel during the experience?
Serene, peace
Did you pass into or through a tunnel
or enclosure? Uncertain, as I
described earlier, I got slowly enveloped by light
Did you see a light? Yes, peace,
separating light
Did you meet or see any other beings?
No
Did you experience a review of past
events in your life? Yes, the
relativity, and the beauty enclosed in the relativity of "ephemeral" life.
Did you observe or hear anything
regarding people or events during your experience that could be verified later?
No
Did you see or visit any beautiful or
otherwise distinctive locations, levels or dimensions?
Yes, as the Buddha describes: one of consciousness without turbulence
Did you have any sense of altered
space or time? Yes, I
experienced that time stood still.
Did you have a sense of knowing
special knowledge, universal order and/or purpose?
Yes, this life is ephemeral, but part of the cosmos
Did you reach a boundary or limiting
physical structure? I got a clear
question whether I wanted to live.
Did you become aware of future events?
No
Did you have any psychic, paranormal
or other special gifts following the experience you did not have prior to the
experience? No
Have you shared this experience with
others?
Yes, after a couple of weeks. It made my life with the people around me more
difficult because one cannot transfer the experience
Did you have any knowledge of near
death experience (NDE) prior to your experience?
Uncertain, I had heard about it as a phenomenon, but never heard about
experiences.
How did you view the reality of your
experience shortly (days to weeks) after it happened:
Experience was definitely real, [Plato?] It
was real for me, and whatever anybody says about it, for me it is an authentic
experience.
Were there one or several parts of the
experience especially meaningful or significant to you?
Primarily realizing that you have influence over your own life
How do you currently view the reality
of your experience: Experience was
definitely real, see former question
Have your relationships changed specifically as a result of your experience?
Yes, I don't judge people anymore, and other people's judgment about me is not
so relevant anymore.
Have your religious beliefs/practices
changed specifically as a result of your experience?
Yes, I am convinced about God/Allah/energy. I try to live as good/aware as
possible, without harming myself or others.
Following the experience, have you had any other events in your life,
medications or substances which reproduced any part of the experience?
Yes, 3 years later I experienced a moment of "enlightenment" or nirvana. My NDE
had a more subjective influence on me. The 2nd experience had more influence on
the environment/cosmos and the way I cope with it.
Is there anything else you would like
to add concerning the experience? Too
much
Did the questions asked and
information you provided so far accurately and comprehensively describe your
experience? No
