Experience Description

When I was three years old, I had to have surgery to repair my urethra tube. It was something I was born with that need to be repaired.

I remember sitting on a high ledge with a girl that was a few years older than I was. I didn't know her, but felt like I did. We both were looking down and I saw doctors and nurses around a bed and asked the girl next to me who was on the bed. She said it was me, and that she had to watch. Being so young, I couldn't grasp how I was sitting up on this ledge and in the bed below at the same time. I wasn't scared, in fact, when I looked behind me I saw a playground with lots of kids playing, the flowers and grass colors were so vivid and pretty. I wanted so badly to play on the playground, but the girl next to me said that I wasn't allowed just yet. She went to tell me that I had to wait a while and then maybe I could go later. We sat there for a while and then she said that I had to go back. I knew what she meant, but I liked being with her and didn't want to leave. I asked if I could play at the playground now, and she 'no' and if she let me she would get in trouble.

I remember waking up and seeing my parents and asking them where the girl went who sat with me while the doctors fixed me. They didn't know whom I was talking about. Years later, I asked my mom if she remembers me asking that and she said 'yes' and after much thought she told me she felt that was my guardian angel watching over me. I don't doubt that, but I think I might have passed if only for seconds. I do remember hearing a doctor say get her back, get her back. Didn't know what that meant till I got older.

After the NDE:

Was the experience difficult to express in words? Uncertain Only because I was three years old and didn't understand it myself... I thought the girl who was next to me during the experience was real and kept looking for her until I left the hospital.

How accurately do you remember the experience in comparison to other life events that occurred around the time of the experience? I remember the experience more accurately than other life events that occurred around the time of the experience this happened to me 44 yrs ago and it feels like it was yesterday

Do you have any psychic, non-ordinary or other special gifts after your experience that you did not have before the experience? Yes Right after my experience happened I was in the kitchen with my mom and she was cooking dinner, I had a vision of another woman doing the same thing. That vision was my mother from a past life. I know this now, but not then. I told my mom she was cooking wrong because that's not how my other mother did it.

Have you ever shared this experience with others? Yes When I got older I told my mom, she believed me and that's all that mattered.

Did you have any knowledge of near death experience (NDE) prior to your experience? No

What did you believe about the reality of your experience shortly (days to weeks) after it happened? Experience was probably not real I figured I must have had a dream even though it seemed so very real. I couldn't find the girl and I described her to my parents and the nurse and they said no one that looked like that was in the hospital.

What do you believe about the reality of your experience now? Experience was definitely real I know there's an afterlife and that we all have guardian angels watching over us.
