Experience Description

I got a flu shot before and passed out in the waiting room.

I remember passing out of my body, through a window with a lot of light, and looking down on what was happening. I then remember returning back to the table.

I don't know how I got back to the examining table. I felt very weak after awakening and rested for a while then left of my own power and drove home

At the time of your experience, was there an associated life-threatening event? Yes Allergic Reaction Other unsure of exact definition passed out for several minutes. I was given a flu shot... felt a buzz in my head in the doctor's waiting room ... woke up in a sweat with two doctors standing over me with iv... not sure of the exact length of time or how I got back into the doctors examining room

How do you consider the content of your experience? Both pleasant AND distressing

The experience included: Out of body experience

Did you feel separated from your body? No I clearly left my body and existed outside it

How did your highest level of consciousness and alertness during the experience compare to your normal everyday consciousness and alertness? More consciousness and alertness than normal. More focused because of the centralization of my view of me on the table

Have you ever shared this experience with others? Yes Same day with my wife. She thought it was believable. I don't think she was influenced by this event other than the obvious concern for me never getting another flu shot.
