Experience Description

I had been ill from a recent operation I had had. My fever spiked and I had to go back to the hospital. I was very ill when my doctor told my husband I had to go back into the operating room again. I was taken down to the operating room and the next thing I remember was a nurse saying, 'Her blood pressure is dropping, her blood pressure is dropping.' Everyone was moving all around me on the table.

I looked down and thought 'Who is that person?' I remember floating above the body and turning my head sideways as if I was confused and thinking 'It's me.' I saw a clock on the wall and it said 12:02. I was very interested in my body on the operating table. I had no clothes on but I had no fear. I only felt peace, such peace. I felt no pain, no worries, just peace. I know I was floating above my body. I did not want to go back. I wanted to stay but something said, 'Remember your children,' and 'Your time is not finished, you must go back.' Time was not a part of this experience, just floating and peace.

I remember that I was pulled quickly downward. I awakened the next morning with the doctor telling me I was going to be okay. I asked him what happened to me at 12:02. He said nothing but I kept saying I know something happened to me. He finally said at that time, while I was being operated on, I died for a few minutes. My blood pressure dropped and my heart stopped. He asked me how I knew. I told him in great detail what I saw, who was in the room and what they were doing. I asked why so many doctors were there with me and I named them off and also all the nurses that I never knew. I told him I was no longer scared of dying and I know what life is all about - love, forgiveness, and spreading God's word.
