Experience Description

I fell asleep feeling ill.

I found myself in this strange place but I cannot explain where I was. It was just full of light and love. I was with a higher being and felt happy and peaceful. We were communicating somehow, but I am unsure how. All of a sudden, I was told I must go back into my body right now because it was not my time. This scared me. The entity told me if I did not leave immediately that my body would die and I would have to remain there. It pointed out a direct path for me to enter back into my body from where I was. I wasn't somewhere on earth or in the sky, either. I cannot explain where I was. So, I flew into my body and right away started gasping for air.

I came back to consciousness with my father holding me as I struggled to breathe.

At the time of your experience, was there an associated life-threatening event? Yes Illness 'Life threatening event, but not clinical death' I had 106 degree fever from chicken pox.

At what time during the experience were you at your highest level of consciousness and alertness? I was at my highest level of consciousness and alertness when I realized I must go back.

Did time seem to speed up or slow down? Everything seemed to be happening at once; or time stopped or lost all meaning

Were your senses more vivid than usual? More vivid than usual

What emotions did you feel during the experience? I felt peacefulness up until I realized I needed to make it back immediately.

Did you come to a border or point of no return? I came to a barrier that I was not permitted to cross; or was sent back against my will The light, or entity, told me I must go back to my body right now or it would die. I was shown the way to go back.

During your experience, did you gain information about universal connection or oneness? Uncertain I was just in another place that was all I knew. If I didnt go straight back to my body when I was told it would have died and I would have stayed there

I do not know how my remembrance of the experience compares to my remembrance of other life events at time It was so hard to explain. I did not even dwell on the experience. I knew it happened and did not acknowladge it for a while.

Do you have any psychic, non-ordinary or other special gifts after your experience that you did not have before the experience? Uncertain I definitely have intuition. However I believe all people do, they just don't realize it.

Have you ever shared this experience with others? Yes After four years. I shared it with my grandmother, and my good friend with whom I studied spirituality, and also my friend from work who showed me this website. I believe they were all amazed.

Did you have any knowledge of near death experience (NDE) prior to your experience? Uncertain I can't remember. If I did, it did not impact me.

What did you believe about the reality of your experience shortly (days to weeks) after it happened? Experience was definitely real

At any time in your life, has anything ever reproduced any part of the experience? Uncertain In dreams I sometimes feel that I have entered the 'other side.' For instance, when one of my best friends died, I visited him in the 'other side.' Whether it was a dream or reality, I don't know.
