Experience Description

I was starting to have a panic attack, going in and out of consciousness. I felt I was going to faint and felt myself starting to fall backwards, also blacking out. When I completely blacked out is when I found myself below the ceiling. Then I saw two friends and myself that I was with. I saw myself with both my hands covering my face, and remembered that when I was in my body I was covering my face because of the feeling of blacking out. I was surrounded by darkness but did not feel at all that I was in the dark. I immediately felt peace. I no longer felt all my worries and fears, but they weren't taken completely. I had a knowing that they were placed to the right of me for the time being. Something telepathically told me to accept the peace I was feeling, that if I did I would have eternity, and eternity was straight ahead and that meant death to earthly life. If I said no then I wouldn't have the peace anymore. Knowing if I said ‘yes’ to the peace that I would die I said ‘no’, because the whole time I remember being really worried being out of my body and wanting to go back. However, the worry you feel outside your body is different - it doesn't come with fear and anxiety attached to it, like it would if you were in your body. As soon as I made the conscious decision to not accept the peace at the moment. I was then immediately back in my body. When I was back in my body I was still dealing with the panic attack, but because of the peace I had just felt I was able to fight through it and recover.

After the NDE:

Was the experience difficult to express in words? Yes You can't explain that type of love and peace. It’s not felt on Earth.

How accurately do you remember the experience in comparison to other life events that occurred around the time of the experience? I remember the experience as accurately as other life events that occurred around the time of the experience

Do you have any psychic, non-ordinary or other special gifts after your experience that you did not have before the experience? Yes I became a little intuitive.

Are there one or several parts of your experience that are especially meaningful or significant to you? Around this time I had had two other panic attacks. I was dealing with many anxieties. I was so ashamed of my feelings that I thought and felt that God was mocking me, and was also ashamed of me so I didn't ask for any help and stopped praying. Because of not being judged during the experience, that was God telling me ‘I love you in spite of what you're going through or feeling’. That changed the way I viewed god and my relationship with him.

Have you ever shared this experience with others? No

Did you have any knowledge of near death experience (NDE) prior to your experience? No

What did you believe about the reality of your experience shortly (days to weeks) after it happened? Experience was definitely real After it happened I was in a state of shock for a while. A couple of years after the experience I pushed it away because of the strong emotions that came with it. I didn't know how to deal with those emotions or what to make of the situation. We humans are not equipped to deal with coming out of our bodies, feeling indescribable love and then coming back to live.

What do you believe about the reality of your experience now? Experience was definitely real The love and peace I felt was enough to know how real it was.

At any time in your life, has anything ever reproduced any part of the experience? Yes I've had the telepathic experience happen twice after the experience. When I was walking home something so powerful told me something wasn't right about the driver in the van that was coming my way. The van turned around and passed me but then started coming back. If it wasn't for that feeling I wouldn't have ran home. Another time, I was lying in my bed and felt a presence come to the right of me and ask me whether I'm going to decide to become an organ donor. This was weird because I never discussed this or thought about it or heard of anybody mentioning it. I prayed for a sign if this was what I was supposed to do. A couple of days later a commercial came on for an upcoming TV show all about and based on organ donation. About a year or two later I had to renew my license and signed up to be an organ donor.

Is there anything else that you would like to add about your experience? I had two spiritual and supernatural experiences before this one (not out of body), and because of them there's absolutely no doubt that a God exists and that there's an afterlife. Having this experience not only confirms it even more, it renewed my faith in a God that I thought had failed me and abandoned me, to be shown this love when I was in such need of it saved my faith and my future.
