Clautreaux Possible NDE

Experience Description

I was walking on a hazy path, enveloped in foul odors and suffering. The horizon was dark brown and twilight prevailed.

This lasted, and lasted...

Then the pains began to ease, the odors became perfumed, and the colors went progressively from brown to a clear blue and I was very happy to be going where I was going.

Suddenly a shadow started walking on my right side.

That lasted some time, and I was more and more happy, without pain anywhere.

The shadow at my side spoke to me, asking, 'Are you sure you want to go on?'

I went on a few paces, and then I turned around, without replying, and began to go back where I had come from.

My sufferings revived, and the fragrance became disgusting odors and the colors became dark again.

I woke up very angry, furious, furious to have 'returned'.

I still feel the same, to some extent.

Did time seem to speed up or slow down? Everything seemed to be happening at once; or time stopped or lost all meaning Disgusting odors, dark colors and intense suffering at first. Then, perfumes, light colors and wellbeing.

Were your senses more vivid than usual? Incredibly more vivid

Did you seem to be aware of things going on elsewhere? Yes, and the facts have been checked out

Did you pass into or through a tunnel? No

Did you see any beings in your experience? I actually saw them

Did you encounter or become aware of any deceased (or alive) beings? Yes A 'shadow' walked beside me and spoke to me. I don't know who it was; I just saw a 'shadow'. 'It' asked me if I really wanted to 'continue'.

Did you see, or feel surrounded by, a brilliant light? A light clearly of mystical or other-worldly origin

Did you see an unearthly light? Yes The horizon was dark at the beginning, then as I walked on, became light, blue.

What emotions did you feel during the experience? Suffering, sadness, then great, immense, colossal joy on 'going where I was going', then rage and sadness at having to 'return where I had come from'.

Did you have a feeling of peace or pleasantness? Incredible peace or pleasantness

Have your relationships changed specifically because of your experience? Yes I am much more easy-going with everybody. I never get angry anymore.

After the NDE:

Was the experience difficult to express in words? Uncertain The mixture of anger and rage on awaking after nine days of coma.

Are there one or several parts of your experience that are especially meaningful or significant to you? The moment of my 'decision' to retrace my steps.

Have you ever shared this experience with others? Yes After three months. And my wife then understood why I was so bad-tempered when I woke up.

What did you believe about the reality of your experience shortly (days to weeks) after it happened? Experience was definitely real I became aware that we will only die IF WE DECIDE TO?

What do you believe about the reality of your experience now? Experience was definitely real I 'really' walked this path, and a 'shadow' 'really' asked me if I wanted to continue.
